We stayed here on an ATV backpack trip in September. The Hotel is a gem and very well maintained. The room was very clean & reasonable priced. The bed was not overly comfortable. Our room was in the front of the hotel and traffic was...More
Wonderful old hotel with a lobby of lush sofas and wallpaper decorated hallways.A terrific madam of all trades at the front desk was helpful and informative and so gracious..There is a second story covered porch that overlooks the main street. We wish we had had more...More
We enjoyed a one-night stay, and used the hotel as a base to explore Sugarloaf - which is 13 miles north. The lobby is comfortable (with a large TV) and free coffee was available at 6 AM. The rooms are clean, and sparsely furnished and...More
Charming old hotel with so much character, but well-maintained - love the new bed linens! Great location, great prices, great restaurant right across the street, and the opportunity to perhaps see a ghost - can't beat it if you are up this way! No tv's...More
Good Points: A lovely period hotel with lots of history (read their website - it's quite funny, in a good way). Stayed for 1 night: friendly welcome from Dawn, room clean and comfortable with some period furniture/fittings, plenty of parking, free wifi ok, no food...More

This is an old hotel that shows it's age, both good and bad. Wonderful woodwork details, large comfortable lobby, wide stairway and antiques scattered around the hallways. It's age shows in the bathrooms, carpeting, some of the furniture and a lack of amenities. We've stayed there to ski Sugarloaf, only when other lodging is unavailable. It's okay for a few nights. The prices reflect that.
If you're looking for plush luxury accommodations for cheapo prices, you're going to be constantly disappointed.
