Very old hotel, no heating or heating defective,no tv, claim to have internet but its useless, bad room service or no service at all, no breakfast, no laundry room, beds with old blankets, dont know how people would give this place 2 stars.
We stayed here 4 nights and had no complaints with our stay. Its basic accommodations and you get what you pay for. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Our room was on the street side and the truck traffic was loud at times during the night.Dawn...More
Wow! Filled with people from all different backgrounds and areas, the Herbert really IS the "come-together" place. We had a ball mixing and mingling with other skiers and snowboarders and -- consider this -- they EVEN have a room filled with 3,000 books that guests...More
Decided to head to Kingfield on short notice to do a couple days of skiing. This hotel is a circa 1900 building that when you walk in its like a step back in time! The victorian era oak and chestnut wood work is one of...More

This is an old hotel that shows it's age, both good and bad. Wonderful woodwork details, large comfortable lobby, wide stairway and antiques scattered around the hallways. It's age shows in the bathrooms, carpeting, some of the furniture and a lack of amenities. We've stayed there to ski Sugarloaf, only when other lodging is unavailable. It's okay for a few nights. The prices reflect that.
If you're looking for plush luxury accommodations for cheapo prices, you're going to be constantly disappointed.
