Due to the low cost of this overnight stay, we weren't expecting much. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. Granted, the room was small, but nicely appointed with all the essentials. The bed was very comfortable and had plenty of pillows. The bathroom was roomy, great water pressure, plenty of hot water and nice fluffy towels. The entire establishment was spotlessly clean. There is a nice deck with seating outdoors. We even saw 3 deer walk across the parking lot. The main house and office was very attractively decorated and comfortable. We never saw the owners, but check in and check out were smooth. If we ever are in the area again we will definitely stay here. Our only disappointment was that there were no places to eat breakfast in the morning.

It's important to keep in mind just what Lincoln, Maine is; a small rural town with a population of less than 5,000 people. As such, you will not find a Hilton or Holiday Inn. What you will find is motels, inns and camps with cabins and camping sites.

This Inn is about as good as you will find in a rural Maine community. The price is fair, the rooms are clean and the staff, when you can find them, are friendly!

The negatives:
The rooms are small, the two beds in our room were very uncomfortable and the staff could not be found in the afternoon! The office hours are until evening, either 8 or 9 pm. But, they could not be found even when standing at the front desk and repeatedly calling for assistance. In the morning it's a different story, they are easily found. It's after about 1pm they seem difficult to locate.

Honestly, the uncomfortable beds were the biggest issue for us.

Although the room we selected (#2) was on the small side, it was clean and comfortable. Congenial manager and workers. Easy check in and check out. The Forester down the street serves a good meal and is not open late.

Unit #20 Needed to climb up and down 3 VERY steep steps to make it to deck from outside.. Other entrance we needed to walk through construction site area. Locked half the time. Smoke detectors went off twice after shower (Condensation?). Ceiling lights nice but flickered on and off frequently. No workable lock. Worker Nick said he couldn't fix it but would repair it next day. .Didn't happen. Owner obnoxious. Not even a toilet paper holder there in my unit. No towel or washcloths replacement without calling owner. Was supposed to include cot. but didn't.

Under no circumstances should you stay here. We had #4. The bed was so old it creaked every time you moved and was extremely uncomfortable. The room was dingy, old and dirty. Bugs and spiders all over the place including the wall(actually smashed against the wall !!) , bathroom, lamp shade and windows. Bedding is totally worn out and ragged, floors are filthy and stained, no hot water for shower.. even if you let the water run for 5 minutes as the sign on the wall indicates - -towels not as good as my garage rags; thin, worn and discolored. Shocking filth on the bathroom floor when wiped with one of the towels. Go anywhere but here. I'd rather sleep in my car than this dump. No, No, No !!! We left the next morning and will never return.

We looked for a place to stay before an 8 am appointment for a second covid shot in Lincoln. There were not many choices. The reviews were positive and we selected the Whitetail Inn. Check-in was seamless and no contact - a plus. Nothing was included with the key about internet passwords or to find them on the wall by the door. The room was as small as any we have stayed in no matter where, and including many parts of Europe, including Paris and Copenhagen. The room was dark and the illumination was poor. The closet had a window with broken panes. The bathroom was minimal and the towels were skimpy. We didn't expect luxury, but we had hoped for more. In addition, we found there was a far amount of road noise in the room.

Last minute stay for work. The room was very clean, updated and super cute and comfy!!! It is a small inn and very affordable. The “lobby” are is a typical New England feel with wood floors and comfy chairs. I would definitely stay here if you are in the area.

The rooms we had were large and comfortable, very clean and well appointed. We had to make some last-minute changes in our reservation and they were very helpful and accommodating. We look forward to getting back to Maine and we will definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed here while visiting family. Our suite was very clean, beds very comfortable with a full bath and kitchen. Staff was friendly and accommodating. It was also very reasonable. This is very easily located along a route that has the availability of stores and restaurants. Strongly recommend this place

See the prior posted review from OnAir59852834963 who was also there in July. I didn’t require a handicap entrance, but his photos & room description were spot on. There was NO WHERE to put your stuff except for the floor. Pet peeve of mine when staying in a hotel. We had brought food, but only one person at a time at the small table. We had booked another room on our return trip from our destination & we canceled it & found other accommodations.

No pets allowed, my mom had her licensed service dog with her and we were approached and told it had to go. We were about to leave by that point anyway so we didn't argue the laws.
