After staying at the property for several years with minor issues of cleanliness, plumbing issues and less than friendly staff--which I overlooked-- had to cancel my last stay and despite canceling with appropriate notice, the staff was unprofessional and rude and insisted that they required 10 day notice of cancellation despite the website and my invoice indicating only 24 hours notice was necessary. The convenience of being near activities for marathon weekend is not worth this headache for me

My husband and I travelled to Millinocket from Southern Maine for the foliage and hiking. When we got to the hotel and approached the desk, hidden behind thick plexiglass, was the desk clerk. He was very standoffish - not friendly. We wondered later if a lot of unseemly or criminal types stay there. The room was outdated with old worn furniture. You just felt like there was a layer of dirt and previous guests on everything, and wondered how long since the bedspread had been washed. There was hair in the shower which completely grossed me out. The next morning my husband went to get us coffee and a quick breakfast but decided against it as the coffee was brown water and the food looked old and inedible. If you are looking to stay in Millinocket, I would not recommend this hotel. If we knew better, we would have stayed out of town and driven in.

WORST hotel. DO NOT STAY THERE! They locked my husband out of our room and then called the cops on him! He went to go grab breakfast and while in the breakfast room, the worker asked what room he was staying in. He told her, went back to our room and the key wasn’t working. He went to tell her the key wasn’t working and she admitted she disabled it. He asked why and explained that I (his wife) checked us in for 4 people and asked why she would disable they key. He also asked her to check if there were 4 people on our registration card and she refused to answer or speak to him at that point. Or give any real explanation to why she disabled his key. He asked her again and after refusing to deal with him, she told him she was going to call the police. My husband came back to the room and at that point, I was awake so I let him in and he told me what happened. We had to pack up at 6:30 AM with our two little kids and had to leave! The police came and my husband explained what happened - they agreed what happened was ridiculous and sided with us saying that was extremely weird. One of them even said he worked in hotels and thought the incident was WEIRD. I was a general manager for a hotel for 10 years. I never asked for all occupants names on the registration card. If a spouse checked in and gave the other spouse a key, we would ask for ID only if they lost a key or locked themself out. This employee straight up locked my husband out on purpose. It was extremely bizarre to say the least. DO NOT STAY HERE. These people are dishonest crooks and just plain creepy/shady people. Imagine if you ran to the vending machine with your kiddos sleeping in the room and came back to your room key being disabled! And then they gave you a hard time and wouldn’t let you in! They are CREEPY CROOKS!

I called and made a reservation, explained I had 2 adults 3 kids and only needed one room. I used my debit card to put the room on hold. I arrived had forgotten my license, my husband had his license, they had an issue with that, but they proceeded to charge my card, they then went to the door and saw my 3 children outside, stopped my husband canceled my room and informed me I had lied! I most certainly had not. I am currently still waiting for a refund! I am disappointed in the way they treated us. It was not professional. They were rude. It also had a terrible smell in the lobby. There was a pool in the lobby therefore you should smell chlorine. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone under any circumstances.

This was NOT what was expected. I called a week in advance and inquired about the pool. All was open was the answer. When we arrived we were told it was closed and had been for a quite a while😠😠 then we notice a small notice that said No refunds for pool closures after check in!😠 I also brought a dog, pd the $ only to take him out within the hour because he was nervous and I was concerned he might disturb other guests. Refund? No! The room was adequate, beds were hard and cheap, adorned with 1 sheet and 1 thin blanket..had to ask the strange desk clerk for blankets. Other guests commented on his behavior.

Former Holidome property has seen much better days. Pool and hot tub were closed (sign stated it was for COVID but all other local motels had pools open), sign need some artificial turf in the lobby stated there were nails in it so stay off the grass. Took several times to close our door before it would latch. Our room was on the 2nd floor and the window had no screen, just opened all the way! Continental breakfast was so limited we bypassed it and went to a local place in town. Staff doesn't care one way or another about you or your satisfaction. Moderately clean but don't scrutinize. No clear signage about how to get to the parking lot from the street so we drove through an abandoned drug store parking lot and strip mall parking lot before we found the entrance. Lots of potential for this property to be awesome but the owners don't care.

Comfortable and spacious room. Very clean. The owner/manager was so nice. Convenient location. Common areas were closed because of Covid but it was still an enjoyable stay. Definitely would recommend.

The Inn has been hit hard by Covid but did a great job being warm, friendly and CLEAN! Which was great since we had two kids under the age of 4 with us. We will go back once the amenities are back open as this is a great halfway point for us when traveling North to Allagash. As long as you understand that this isn’t the Ritz it’s a great location and clean place to stay with kids.

The carpeting was old and worn, the furniture was bottom of the line and old, and the whole place had a stale musty smell. I thought it was significantly over priced. The pool and lobby was quite nice and there was ample parking.

We booked here based off of other reviews and input. It definitely doesn’t look like a hotel from the outside. Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff were all great! The continental breakfast in the morning was typical with your bananas, muffins, breads, cereal, oatmeal, waffles, yogurt and milk, apple juice and orange juice. The pool temperature was a little cold for our liking but there were people swimming, the hot tub was nice however it shows it’s age with not all the functions working as they should. Overall I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!
