We stayed here overnight on our way to the Canadian Maritimes. When we first saw it, we weren't sure what to think since it was not new or modern. The owner, who is former Navy, checked us in and showed us where our room was. It was basic but recently updated. We had an issue with our A/C which sounded like an airplane engine but he assisted us in understanding the controls. The attached restaurant was only open a few days for lunch and not for dinner since they were still looking for a cook. We ended up driving 18 miles to River Drivers Restaurant near Lake Millinocket on the way to Baxter State Park. There were a few other patrons staying in the hotel who were up and out early like us. The hotel is right on the road but this is rural Maine and shuts down after dark.

Room was excellent, big and clean. We had no issues but wasn't real fond that the hotel had no employee on site around the clock. I asked and they assured it was a nice area, Still wasn't totally confortable that no employee is on the premises at night.

We stayed here while waiting for our son and his hiking buddy to finish the Appalachian Trail at Mt Katahdin. Originally we booked one night, but at the last minute we needed to book a second night with two rooms. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us, even though they were fully booked. A cancellation cleared the way for us, and they were able to switch things around to provide us with two rooms. We ended up with a larger room, at the same low price, that had a kitchen area. It was nice to be able to have the four of us eat breakfast at a table together. Despite, COVID and staff shortages, the manager made us feel welcome and took the stress out of our stay. I would recommend this hotel to all parents of AT hikers that are on their way to Baxter State Park. Thank you Hotel Terrace. Rooms were clean and comfortable too!…

Decent size room, clean. Allowed to check in a little early, front desk person/housekeeper (Karen) prepared room so we could. Older building/decor but in decent shape. Quiet night (could go either way as noise from hall heard clearly). Restaurant nice, busy, food was good. Close to town. Had breakfast at Appalachian Trail Cafe which was very good. Impressive gallery in town; Moose Prints Gallery and Gifts... must see. Handy to Hannaford, Dunkin Donuts and Baxter State Park.

This is a great little hotel to stay after a long day of hiking. It has very “small town” atmosphere. They were very accommodating. Our room had a mini fridge, great water pressure, and comfy pillows. It was very clean and the furniture looked updated and more modern than the photos I saw online.

This isn't a bad hotel, but nothing special with it either. It is connected to a restaurant, which surprised me. That was not as bad as it sounds. The rooms were basic, but clean. If you are looking for places to visit close by, there really isn't anything. This is rural Maine. I was able to find what I needed in this hotel. It was cheap enough and clean enough for me.

Two of us go to breakfast once a week to catch up & plan for the coming week. The parking lot is often filled with snow sleds as you can slid right on in. A new owner took over @ ago but nothing has changed except maybe going down hill a bit. The help there is great & can't make your visit good enough.

We ate there last week. The meatloat was bland; its gravy had more gelatin than 2 boxes of jelly; the fried rainbow trout was dry with no taste. The baked potatoes were very overdone. How can someone overcook baked potatoes? The waitress told us the dessert we ordered was not ready for prime time that week. BEWARE. We have eaten at a lot of "down home" and comfort food places in the US. This was the worst.

This hotel staff was very helpful. Our travel time needed to be adjusted several times and the staff -Abby, April etc were all very understanding and accommodating. I have stayed here several times before and this hotel is usually my first pick for return visits. The location to town (walking distance) and attached restaurant (which has good food ) and staff is top of my priority list which you can see when from first sentence. This hotel is clean and has comfortable beds. Rooms have TV, small refrigerators, coffee makers, hair dryer but no microwave. Although rugs appear little warn I feel the staff makes up.
