Here's a tip for the people running the NEOC campground, which has room for about fifty tents sites and cabin tents--if you advertise having quiet hours, but fail to enforce them at all, then guess what? You DON'T have quiet hours. My father and I rented a cabin tent for the night so we could head out and climb Mt....

Dear Lila. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I am sorry that your stay was so challenging and what made for a tough hike in the morning. I will follow up directly with our on-site staff. Please reach out to me directly at marketing@neoc.com if you are available to communicate about this.

I was able to easily book a one night stay in one of their camping cabins for 46USD. I appreciated their emails on how to get there as my GPS did have trouble finding it. We were greeted with a warm welcome and it was a nice surprise to find out that they offered hot showers 24/7! We were happy...

Rafting on the Penobscot exceeded all expectations. Aside from the bit of confusion finding the Penobscot Outdoor Center (what with the nearby New England Outdoor Center, and lack of signage, etc.), we had an AMAZING day rafting thanks to our incredible rafting guide Sean. We were a group of three seasoned rafters and one first timer, and everyone felt safe...

Tented at POC as I was rafting with them. This is bare bones camping and if you're not up for that than this might not be for you. Tent sites are less than 50 feet from pond. Can canoe, or kayak in pond but no swimming. Beautiful views. Be sure to pack everything you want to eat while you are...

If you're looking to hike Katahdin but can't get a campground in the park at roaring brook, chimney pond, etc.. then this is the next best thing. It's a nice campground with tent sites a few yards from the water and bunk houses if the weather is truly terrible. It's about a 20 minute drive to roaring brook parking lot...

We have been staying at the POC to raft the Penobscot every year for quite some time and find this to be a great base camp. There are options to tent (no water/electric), cabin tent or cabin. All options are great and the sites are nice. Some sites are right on the pond. There are 2 rafting companies operating out...

There are multiple cabins and tent sites to camp from, they're a bit crowded together but the noise level wasn't bad at all. They even allow for late check-ins (we all got there after 10pm). The staff is super nice and it was very easy to get situated for our white water rafting int he morning. Unfortunately the breakfast food...
