Super friendly and helpful owner. Don't hesitate to ask questions and advice about checking out the mountain. Glad we asked or we might have had troubles going with our original plan. Great night's sleep and a reasonable price. Upstairs room facing the road was fine.

We came up to the area to hike Katahdin. On our way towards Baxter we hit a moose and needed somewhere to stay on short notice in the middle of the night. The owner had left for the night but came right back to offer us a room! We were there for three nights and were treated so well. The room was very comfortable and clean with a nice bathroom and a balcony. There's also a great bar downstairs connected to the lodge. Chris and his staff made our stay wonderful and I can't recommend this place enough!!

My criteria was a clean inexpensive room with a fridge, microwave, and television that gets the Boston sports (specifically the Celtics). I made no reservation for my stay so stopped in at a couple establishments that didn't meet the criteria. I was recommended to Pamola as the owner is into sports. The owner, Chris checked me in with a good room rate. The TV was a 21 inch CRT which surprised me. But it got the channels I wanted. After being out in Baxter and the Golden Road from pre sunrise to after sunset the room was perfect; clean and nice hot showers. Better yet the bar is a good one, with good craft beers, friendly bar tender (Tammy), some 55" or so TVs and several good quality pool tables (they host tournaments here). It may not be for everyone but it was perfect for me.

This was our second stay at Pamola Lodge, and it's perfectly fine for a night or two while you explore Bacter State Park or katahdin Winds and Waters National Monument. Nothing fancy, no special amenities (although it does have an adjacent bar that you can access without going outside). It was very clean, and while it could use a makeover, everything in the room worked just fine.

My family stopped here to stay the night before our white water rafting trip and we are glad we did. The receptionist was the owner and she was very nice and gave us information about where to go in town for lunch or dinner. This is a no thrills hotel but has the essentials needed for a one day/night stay. Place was clean and functional for our purposes. In addition, there is a Chinese restaurant and tavern attached to the hotel which also made it convenient.

Room was dated and needed work but it was very convenient to activities in the area like the North Maine Woods, rafting on the Penobscot River and Baxter State Park. I thought the rate was high for the off season. Kind of reminded me of traveling the Alaskan Highway where hotels had the bare minimum and charge high rates because their was no competition. I would stay again, I'm just saying don't expect a fancy hotel you would find in places like Bar Harbor.

This is a decent place, nice people, quiet & clean. Not updated but still a good place to stay. Convenient to town. The Restaurant was good. The band that placed at the bar on Saturday night was good!

A friend and I wanted to be at the Telos checkpoint in the North Maine Woods before 7AM. We drove to Millinocket and chose this motel. We got a kick our of having to go to the on-premesis bar to check in - local color is a definite plus in my book! Our room had both an indoor and outdoor entrance. We were there for less than 9 hours. The room was clean, our beds were comfortable, overall the place was very quiet, and we both enjoyed decent showers before our trek north. Four thumbs up - if ever we are in these parts again we will be back.

First of all, the woman at the desk was really pleasant. The price, I thought was more than reasonable for being right on the trail system. Trails start at the back of the parking lot. No road crossings. There is a bar and a Chinese food restaurant on the property that stays open pretty late on the weekends. The continental breakfast could use a few more options but northern timbers snowmobile clubhouse makes a great breakfast cheap and it's only about 5 miles up the trail(weekends only). The room itself was pretty dated but the bed was comfortable. The shower was the best I've found in millinocket. No low flow shower head.

The price range was enough of a hint that this was a no-frills hotel, so we had low expectations, but we knew we would stay here for less than 12 hours before moving on to Baxter State Park. The water-damaged walls and damaged carpeting were unfortunate but not deal-breakers. In the end, this motel gave us what we needed: reasonable wifi, good TV channels (on an old-style tube TV), and a surprisingly good shower. If you're willing to lower your standards a little, this place is fine for a night.
