You just cannot get any better lodging in Ogunquit than The Yellow Monkey! Spotless Victorian furnishings with all the modern conveniences of an upscale hotel. The service is impeccable, with onsite owners who bend to your every wish. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Massage therapist on site to knead away your aches and pains after a day of shopping or site seeing.

Our room was cramped, dark, old, and musty-smelling. There was a double bed and a day bed. The bathroom was extremely small and dated. The continental breakfast was decent: English muffins, butter, peanut butter, Danish, yogurt, cereal, coffee. The front porch was a comfortable and lovely spot to sit and watch people go by because we certainly would not choose...

I stayed in the Brown House on the 2nd floor at the front of the building. The location is perfect for a 2 minute walk into the downtown area shops and restaurants. In season, the Ogunquit Trolley takes you to Perkins Cove and the beach. My room as well as the lobby of the building was tastefully decorated with vintage...

I've stayed at the Monkey for years. The owners are very friendly and usually book your room themselves. I've stayed in all of the houses, and the rooms have been clean and comfortable. There is a little bit of a mothball smell though, which I don't mind. Sometimes if you pay cash, the rooms are even cheaper. You cannot beat...

I Met my husband here. This has become a very special place for us since this is where we met!!! Great location! You can easily work into town . You can get on the tram and go anywhere! The summer playhouse has wonderful shows and the restaurants have the best lobster.

My friend and I have been staying at the Yellow Monkey for about 20 yrs. What brought us there first was that they allowed pets in rooms with private entrances and we travel with two small dogs. What kept us going back were the owner's, Victor and Peter, their friendliness and willingness to be accommodating, the staff we met and...

This place really hasn't changed much in many years...and that would be a good thing! We love this place. And the best part is the friendliness of the staff and other guests...especially Peter! It really helped make our vacation special. Can't wait to go back.

We stayed in room 'E1', a beautiful , newly re modeled, large suite with full kitchen and private patio. Great price! Quiet location but with access to common areas where friendly people meet and party together between events downtown. Short walk to shopping, restaurants, dance and comedy bars. The best Beach a short walk away. Heated Jacuzzi for guests is...

This was a fine guest house. I wish that all could be as accommodating as this guest house was. We were there in early July...the weather in Ogunquit was awful. It rained--down-poured, and our lovely hotel room was even more of a respite because of the weather. We walked up a set of stone stairs to a suite with a...

Have stayed at the Yellow Monkey many times over the years, some rooms are better than others, but overall no complaints. Just stayed in Room L, gorgeous room, well appointed, clean and comfortable, also enjoyed the period furniture in the room which were of excellent quality. Thanks to the owner, Peter, for offering a great stay at fair prices.

“There are a few low budget rooms. Those are the ones that you may read a negative review. So many more rooms are excellent and compare in price or lower to other resorts. There are 5 or 6 homes converted into suites. There is a size and price for everyone. Ask about the Captains quarters.”
