I had to travel to the University of Maine for a meeting with colleagues. I stayed at the Black Bear Inn, as it is conveniently located just a few miles from campus, and it's easy to get to from I-95. It is also comfortable, friendly and a really good value. The rooms are spacious, and have all the amenities. I have stayed here before, and I will again!

Recently needed to put 2 employees up at the Black Bear Inn for a job being done in the area. The reservation staff was very helpful and accommodating in the booking process. The feedback we got from out employees was that it was a very positive experience.

Overall we enjoyed our recent stay at the Inn. It was graduation weekend for the local university so I knew to ‘book early’. So glad I did. Be advised that housekeeping, while courteous, does not make your bed and provide clean linens everyday unless you fill out their form provided (we didnt find the form until 2 days into our 4 day stay). That being said, the front desk was very responsive to all our requests-even the need for a cork screw 😉 Courtney & Bobby rock.

We have stayed multiple times, with and without our dog. Always clean rooms, friendly staff and willing to help with anything. The best pillows and a quick breakfast included in the morning sets you up for the day. I do miss all the wooden bears though.

I have just been to the Black Bear Inn for a two-day conference. As a conference site, it is fantastic. It's an easy navigation from Bangor Airport (we rented a car and used our phone's GPS). There is plenty of free parking and the hotel is in a nice area for walking. There is a mall close by in case you want to pick up refreshments for the room. Our room had a mini fridge and small microwave. There were two basins in the room which helped with readiness in the mornings. I did not see a safe in the room; however, we did not feel our items were unsafe during our stay. The staff who attended to our conference were outstanding insofar as meal preparation and serving. The conference rooms worked well and our banquet in the ballroom was fantastic. I appreciate having the option of a coin-operated washer and dryer. The room was not made up during our stay; rather, we were given a large plastic bag to deposit used towels and clean towels to replace the used ones were delivered to the room. There were multiple channels on cable TV in the room. The staff puts out coffee and tea all day long for guests. Likewise, the breakfast room was very nice. My only tension was that the bed in our room was really, REALLY soft and lumpy and we did not sleep well either night because we were very uncomfortable. …

I've been staying at the Black Bear for 20 years. They are one of the few hotels I stay with that is constantly "upgrading" with new paint, new counter tops, new shower over-lays etc. They make a great effort to stay fresh. Recently they've been removing carpet (isn't that the "dirtiest" part of a room?) with flooring. So if you book a room , request a room without carpet! The staff is friendly and accommodating. On my most recent stay my company overnighted some marketing to me. It did not arrive when Fedex said it would. But the hotel knew my conference was close by, so at 10:30 AM, when FedEx delivered (late), they called my cell phone to let me know it was there -- even though I had already checked out! I went to the hotel and was able to have the marketing materials for the rest of the week at all the other conferences I had. Thanks Black Bear!!…

Hotel is very comfortable. VERY clean rooms & bathroom. TV had decent channels and worked well. Internet was OK, not fast but workable!!! Breakfast was OK. Bagels, egg muffins, waffles, cereal & the basic juices and coffee. Breakfast area was kept clean at all times and was stocked. Plenty of free parking. The only draw back or con was the road noise. Even facing away from the highway you still heard a lot of road noise in the room. :-( Note that they have started to refurbish the first floor & they stated it will continue to the remainder of the hotel!!!!

All staff for the convention were super helpful. Food was delicious. Space had a nice flow. Multiple staff available at all times for questions. Room was spacious, comfortable and I was able to check in early.

Wonderful time! Beds were comfy and plenty of pillows were supplied. the "contactless cleaning" had a comprehensive list and was very prompt and accurate. staff was friendly and happy. conference area was well lit and perfect for the event I was attending. Black Bear Inn did an amazing job providing food for purchase during our breaks over the weekend! Was so happy to have our event return to the Black Bear Inn, even under the new management it was way better than our previous years at another location.

We have stayed here twice so far. It is a very clean and accommodating. The location is great and easy to get to. Everyone we encounter was super friendly. Room are very cozy. I love the black bear theme. The breakfast has a variety of food to choose from and with a picky 4 year old it is super helpful.
