My husband and I stayed here for one night and were tremendously impressed. We've stayed in B&B's in Europe and this was our first in the US. Now the bar has been set VERY HIGH. Anne is so welcoming and accomodating. Our room was beautiful and with all of the amenities of an upscale hotel--even beautiful white robes. The breakfast...

We stayed at Winding Way earlier this week, after two weeks winding through New England. Anne was charming. Staying at a two bedroom art gallery was just like being at a friend's home. Every item you might think of was already there. The over a century old home was extensively remodeled in 2012 regarding the bathrooms, etc, leaving all the...

We stayed here for one night and it was an interesting stay. Our host was wonderful and the location was perfect-great restaurants and the Farnsworth was right around the corner. We had the smaller of the two rooms. Having bad knees and a bulky suitcase , it presented a challenge since the rooms were located on the 2nd floor. "Be...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review . We are pleased that you found Winding Way “cozy”. Also, glad you enjoyed our assistant innkeeper ,Terry, as we were out of town during your stay. We feel very lucky to have Terry as a member of our staff. Our listings on all websites state that our art gallery...

We stayed three nights at the end of July and early August. Anne is as delightful as her bed and breakfast. The tiny rubber ducks in the shower and the bedside chocolates are examples of Anne's small touches that make all the difference!! We stayed in the Sarah Thurlow room and it was lovely. Comfort and cleanliness are just two...

What a sweet home. We stayed in the Sarah Thurlow room which is lovely. Done in pale yellow & nautical blue & white, makes for a relaxing night. Lots of sunlight plus a wonderful skylight in the large shower for morning wake-up time. Downstairs kitchen has two small tables set with breakfast dishes ready & waiting. The owners don't live...

Wonderful experience at Winding Way B&B. Owner Anne is a gem of an owner. Arrived very late and she was waiting for me even though she lives off site. Very comfortable room with modern bathroom. Location is perfect...2 blocks off of Main St. near stores and resturants. I usually don't stay in B&B's but my room was private and quiet....

My wife and I went to Maine to see our son and his family including our new grandson. We wanted to stay at a convenient location between his house and downtown Rockland. The location was everything we had hoped for, however the hospitality was way beyond what we expected. It started even before we arrived when the owner called us...

Thank you SA for your wonderful review of Winding Way. I enjoyed meeting both of you, your son and his family plus the newest edition. Come again- fall and even winter is beautiful in Rockland.

This little bed and breakfast, within easy walking distance to Rockland's downtown, was cozy, clean, and totally updated with a lovely bathroom, and comfortable bedding was a real find! The owner/Innkeeper was terrific too. She prepared a delicious and nutritious breakfast that was the "icing on the cake!"

Winding Way is wonderful and perfectly located for walking around Rockland. The man who met us was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is do-it-yourself and very tasty. Since they only have two rooms, it's very quiet, private and romantic. Our room (The Edward Thurlow Room) was super clean, somewhat spacious and impeccably decorated and furnished. The sloping eaves do...

A great location ... comfortable up-to-date rooms with thoughtful touches. Two bedroom upstairs each with a private bathroom and a common sitting room. High quality construction and decor ... And we loved the ice cream in the freezer and fresh baked cookies and blueberry scones in the afternoon! Breakfast was a serve yourself ... fresh strawberries, granola, real vanilla bean...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our B &B is in a rennovated c.1855 victorian house one block from the Main street and Rockland Harbor. We are around the corner from The Farnsworth Art Museum and across the street from The Wyeth Center. We have two sunny queen rooms and a guest sitting room on the second floor of the house. Our art gallery is on the first floor. It is possible to rent the house and have children accompany the family. We have a gift shop where we sell prints and cards of our artist's work plus art supplies for the traveling or beginning watercolorist. "Watercolor Lessons in a Bag" is also available for purchase which includes everything needed to begin doing watercolors in a weekend. We are avid cyclists and can show you all the best routes to coastal villages, lighthouses and beaches. We can help you get a bike if you did not bring your own and have secure parking for bicycles. The house included an ice cream parlor in the late 1800's and we serve ice cream to our guests. We have traveled a lot in the USA, Europe,Canada and South Africa and love to stay in small inns and B&Bs. We have taken the best ideas from all of those places and we hope you will agree. ... more   less
