Very nice and interesting place with an impressive breakfast. The porch, the indoor seating area, and the breakfast room are all very nice. We stayed in Room 10 with the detached bathroom for one night (the bathroom was for our use only and a key was given to us - if we had cared to keep any belongings there, we...

A mixed family group (me, adult daughter, 3 mo old grandson, adult niece, and, believe it or not, a nearly 9 year old dog) stayed here for 2 nights midweek and enjoyed every aspect of our visit. Joan and Ed were terrific hosts, friendly, full of great recommendations, and created the most welcoming atmosphere for all of us. The breakfasts...

Nicest owners, attentive to guests' needs and a helluva good breakfast. Centrally located across the street from the islands ferry, a two minute walk to town. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, reasonable rates. You'd have a hard time doing better.

I have to disagree with the comments made by the person who stayed in the suite with his family. The room itself was very spacious, had lovely quilts and rugs and the furniture was very nice. There was no musty smell and the location in the inn was perfect. The room also gave us the opportunity to have our son...

Wonderful B&B. Downtown Rockland looking out on the water at the numerous boats.Close to shops, restaurants, Farnsworth Gallery close by with Andrew Wyetts collection as well as family collections and more artist. The breakfast was wonderful cooked by the husband of the B&B owner.

While the photos of this B&B looked charming, I would not use that word after seeing it in person. Booking was fairly easy, so good marks for that. I will also preface my comments by stating I am normally not a B&B kind of person. I prefer hotels, the more stars the better. But since Maine is all about charm,...

An important factor in running a successful business is managing expectations. These people clearly were a poor fit for us. For that, I apologize. We do not pretend to be a hotel. We do, however, strive to be a first-rate B&B. We have a large repeat customer base, indicating that people who do know what they’re getting choose us over...

I had the delightful experience of spending 3 nights at the Old Granite Inn in Rockland Maine over the recent July 4th weekend. I was visiting to do some sightseeing in Rockland, and spend time with family in Port Clyde Maine. The Inn is right across from the ferry terminal, and was a simple walk across the street when I...

We spent our anniversary weekend at this fine inn which is close to the Farnsworth Museum, and were pleasantly surprised by the gourmet feast prepared by Ed and Joan. Our meals were fantastic! Crab fritters, blueberry crepes, fresh fruit, excellent coffee - delicious. The inn is super clean; we appreciate having no chemical or perfume smells in the room. Comfortable,...

Ed and Joan have done a wonderful job with this lovely B+B overlooking the ferry docks. The house is inviting and cozy, full of amenities. Especially loved the dining room and the breakfast served was excellent. Since there was just the two of us we could order anything we wanted and the blueberry pancakes with maple syrup hit the spot....

It seemed like our whole family descended on the quiet port town of Rockland for a family wedding and took over : ). The Old Granite Inn was a perfect fit. The rooms were clean, cozy and eclectic. Each one had unique personality and plenty of space. For me - the pluses - reasonable rates, hot, hot showers, parking, walking...
