Old world elegance on a beautiful property with just amazing views of Somes Sound. No AC but cool enough in late August. We did not try the restaurant although have heard it was one of the best on the island. Southwest Harbor is much less...More
Huge grand old building tucked into the top of Somes Sound . It's seems a little out of the way but I'd perfectly place out of town w/ 15-20 walk to shops if you like . Had a real comfortable king bed in a cute...More

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit that had view of the sound from the master bedroom, living room and deck. There was a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, full kitchen and large deck with table for 4. There are some units right on the water, but not sure if they have gas or wood fireplaces. Beal's lobster pier is short walk away and is excellent. Thurston's lobster pound is about 15-minute drive and is also excellent.
