My daughter and I stayed at the Seawall Motel for our entire visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia Ntl Park. Our experience far exceeded our expectations. The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating, The rooms were immaculately clean, the laundry facilities were excellent. The "continental" breakfast was actually a feast! The location right across the street from a...

Another Great Stay with Super Wonderful Owners and Staff! A perfect place to stay that goes above and beyond being a motel. Enjoy being able to park your car in front of your room (which is always quickly cleaned and ready for your return with plenty of hot water in their showers day and night) for quick access and escape...

A friend and I stayed here this past week while attending a nearby art workshop. What a special spot! Dave and Vickie are so very friendly and accommodating, as are all the staff. The coastal setting is just beautiful and I was struck by how well I could see the stars at night since there is so little light pollution....

We visit Acadia National Park every summer and we always stay at the Seawall. The rooms are spotless, large and basic. We don't need bells and whistles because we go to Mt Desert Island to get out, not sit around in a room! However, the hotel is across the street from the ocean and we had a beautiful view from...

We have traveled to Southwest Harbor to stay with family several times before. This was the first time we were looking for a motel to stay in the area, and we couldn't have been happier. Beautiful location on the quieter side of the island, and wonderful staff and service. We hope to stay there again in the future and would...

We stayed here for the first time in 2014. Would have again in 2015, except it was booked solid. So, when rooms were available this year, I pounced on the chance to book again. We stayed in room 4. It's on the ground floor, next to the housekeeping unit...but it was still quiet. Sure, sometimes we could hear people walking...

What a remarkable location. Stumbled in after a long drive and was met by a beautiful full moon over the sea wall. We stayed on first floor for ease of unloading. Had a connecting room, but there was a panel of foam core between doors which we didn't bother so just left as is. Imagine it was there for sound...

It has always been difficult to understand why the vast majority of the one million annual visitors to Acadia National Park, widely regarded as among the best in the nation, choose to stay either in or close to Bar Harbor, Maine. Traffic there can be very difficult to endure in summer months, especially when huge cruise ships spend a day...

This was a perfect peaceful retreat. South of town, but an easy drive. All rooms are full width of building so have cross ventilation. No need for A/C; fans provided but not needed. The ocean is across the street where there is a natural seawall and tide pools. Just down the street from one of Acadia Nat'l Park's campgrounds with...

Just stayed Aug. 2016 and this was our second stay at the Seawall Motel. Just as our last stay was, the owners and staff were very friendly and courteous. We went there this time to view the annual Perseid meteor shower as this location has a very dark sky, making star gazing and Milky Way viewing amazing. We saw 267...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Seawall Motel is located on the quietside of Mount Desert Island in the Southwest Harbor area. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the Motel borders the Seawall entrance to Acadia National Park. It adjoins a pine forest and a fresh water pond which provides ample opportunities for birdwatching and scenic photography. The Seawall is a naturally occurring granite, loose boulder and rock seawall with easy shore walks and tide pools to explore. There is a picnic area to watch the waves crash on the rugged shoreline and a spot to watch the sunrise over the Great Cranberry Island. On a clear night, it is one of the best places in the country for stargazing. Just beyond the scenic areas, you'll approach two of the many walking trails of Acadia National Park: Ship Harbor and Wonderland. Each is less than a two-mile hike along the ocean and nature trails. A short drive from these trails is the Bass Harbor Lighthouse that has been guiding mariners with its light since 1858. The dramatic setting, especially at sunset, is a photographer's dream. The Seawall Motel sits directly across from the famed seawall and close proximity to many activities of what the park has to offer. It is a two-story Motel with free Wi-Fi, in-room phones, cable TV and complimentary continental breakfast. These budget-friendly motels has twenty spacious, comfortable, and exquisitely clean rooms with a choice of two-queens or king size beds. A community room is available for all guests to use which includes the vending and ice machine, refrigerator, microwave, and coin-operated laundry machines. The free Island Explorer Shuttle can be accessed from our parking lot for easy travel to restaurants and shops in downtown Southwest Harbor, and to many other locations on the island. Top-rated in TripAdvisor, the Seawall Motel is the perfect place for your Maine vacation! Enjoy the beautiful scenery, the wonderful staff, and freshly brewed coffee ready for you every morning! ... more   less
