We stayed here for weekend because we was going to the chiltern valley wine tour and so I am glad we chose this place. The landlord and lady are so lovely. The room was fantastic with lots of character from the wooden beams and lovely cottage windows over looking the fields. The food was delicious good choice of breakfast and...

Some of the reviews have been a bit critical on here about The Frog, but I have to disagree with them. We visit this pub, admittedly not as frequently as we would like, but it's always a joy to go. Cosy log fire and a pint during the winter, fantastic beer garden during the summer. The staff are always friendly,...

Stayed here for one night as a single traveller with work. The pub itself is lovely, cozy nestled within the countryside, with a nice warm atmosphere inside and lovely real wood burning fire. I had dinner in the pub, which was really tasty, simple yet well made with great flavouring. The people working there both in the evening & the guy at breakfast were...

We stayed here with friends to attend birthday party at local vineyard. Some reviews on here are very harsh. The pub was lovely, staff welcoming and very helpful even running one couple to the party. Room was warm, comfortable and as you would expect in an ancient inn. Friends stayed at much much more expensive place and couldn't stand up...

This pub has really gone down hill since my lastvisit in 2016. Went with friends to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was tasteless and the meal was very disappointing. A friend is veggie and coeliac and although they had salad and goat's cheese separately on the menu, they could not combine them to make a goat's cheese salad for...

This is a lovely looking pub, but the initial welcome was not good, the landlord/barman was not rude but appeared very uninterested. The young waitress and waiter were the opposite though, very helpful and friendly. I have coeliac disease which means I will be very ill if i do not have gluten free food, so i was initially delighted to...

The landlord although was not rude, he was not friendly either. He looked rather miserable and did not wish to make small talk. The food was not too bad, but i had to leave it for 10 minutes to let the furnace hot plate cool down. The bedroom was rundown. No headboard Old carpet Sliding door that comes off the...

We had a fabulous walk with a clear blue ( cold) sky. We were at The Frog last weekend with friends & decided to walk there today. Great food , quick & friendly service - will keep coming back. It's a great 'local' but it's obvious lots of diners come from outside the area

A really good country gastro pub. Family lunch for 5 ....fish and chips were excellent and daughters sausage and mash came with extra gravy no questions asked. The Irish owners have character, they don't grovel but create an excellent atmosphere. The fire place is amazing and the bar is old fashioned and full of character and warmth. We will be...

We decided on The Frog because of a specific Gluten Free menu. both myself & DIL are Gluten Free, me a coeliac & DIL gluten intolerant. We ordered starters off the GF menu, mine turned up with Black Pudding hidden under the smoked salmon (not on the GF menu) I already had a mouthful before realising something was wrong &...
