My friends and I stayed at the same hotel for one night. They checked in hours before we did, and sent a text that just said "no words." I knew it wasn't going to be a luxury experience and my husband and I are ok with that. We needed a place to stay en route to Acadia National Park. We... More

After reading the mixed reviews, we made a reservation. The motel is right off a main road - the only one in and out of Bar Harbor. Convenient but loud. All night. Reception staff was friendly. That's where the "pro" list ends. The room is a time capsule of the 70's with few upgrades. It smells like it's been used... More

Not to be rude but don't come here and expect a five star experience. The owners were friendly and accommodating. We rented a cottage and it was very nice. It was functional and perfect for what we needed, a place to sleep. And it served that purpose well. It was a short drive to Acadia/Bar Harbor, or if you needed... More

This is an older motel located between Ellsworth and Bar Harbor. The furnishings are very standard and include a small refrigerator and microwave. I stayed in a cottage and there are also regular motel rooms. While everything is old, this is also a very clean facility. Towels and bedding were fresh and clean. The small wall-unit heater quickly warms the... More

We are on the end of a 2 month visit to the US and this is by far the worst place we have stayed.. Whoever gave it a 2-3 star rating must be related to the owner.. Yes I know it's budget but really?? I had to ask for the sheets to be changed before we even unloaded our bags..... More

This place was the cheapest motel I could find with decent reviews. It's not too long of a drive to Bar Harbor and you save quite a bit of money if you get a hotel in Trenton instead of closer to Acadia. The room I had was small but perfectly adequate. Bathroom was clean. The decorations are dated, but I... More

We stayed at the hotel while visiting Acadia. It was about a 25 min drive to Acadia but cheaper than staying in Bar Harbor. Lots of little restaurants in nearby Ellsworth. We even caught a Wed night concert down in the marina by the local school band! The room was spacious. The owner was very helpful with advice of what... More

Motel was truly outdated, as if you were walking onto the TV set of "Dark Shadows..from 1969. Over priced room. The owner or manager Casey was a complete jerk and had major attitude when we arrived! Would not accommodate. This motel offers nothing..no refrigerator or microwave, no swimming pool....offers nothing, not even shampoo just soap to wash your hair with.... More

Wonderful experience with an inexpensive, clean and well kept retro-style motel. Great owners to boot! They were extremely accommodating when we asked for a coffee maker and coffee in the room. The rooms are close to the road, but it gets quiet at night.

We booked acadia gateway for 3 nights knowing it was a budget motel but location on the cheap was important to us. Room clean but dark and dated. Beds very comfortable & great shower. Knowing now that to stay in bar harbour was as inexpensive with bars & restaurants without the drive we will stay on mt desert island next... More
