I recently had the pleasure to return to the White Swan. If you have always wanted to live on the Eastern Shore you will love the White Swan. It’s old world charm and easy ways have the feel of an elegant country home. Over the years, I have stayed in all the inn’s rooms; each is different and will meet...

We stayed in the Eliason Victorian Suite during the Harry Potter Festival and truly enjoyed out visit. The suite is very roomy and was perfect for 3 of us. The beds were really comfortable and we loved having all of the extra space that we would never have had in a hotel room. The only issue was that the twin...

Our stay in the White Swan Tavern Inn in Chestertown, MD; it was a lovely peaceful place - hospitable innkeepers with knowledge of the area and of the site and building history, beautiful and unique building; our room dates back to the early 1730s, the original tanner's workroom later used as a summer kitchen (not the room with the ghost);...

Disappointing. Expensive. Worst breakfast in our B&B experience. They blamed the lack of a formal kitchen for the fact that all they had was very bad mass produced cereal and too sweet pastries. Could have had nice toast or at least hard boiled eggs. Mattress uncomfortable. Worn and torn furniture in bedroom. Hangers that you can't take off the rack...

The White Swan Tavern is a lovely bed and breakfast. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and the Chester River. The restoration of this 1700's building is very nice. We stayed in the Wilmer Room on the third floor and it was a good size. Very thrilling to stay in such a historic building. I would say that the bathroom...

The entrance was not clearly marked. I had an elderly companion walking with a cane and it was ghastly hot. Doorways not ramped or easily accessible for someone with mobility problems. Also, the church across the street had bells going on hourly ALL NIGHT LONG. For the price we paid, the breakfast left a lot to be desired.....

This B & B is a classic. It is a fully restored 1700's tavern. The rooms are filled with period pieces as well as appropriate reproductions. The staff is friendly and attentive. One of the neat things was the display case showing some of the artifacts that were found during the restoration. Had a great stay.

We loved the decor and all the common areas, the inn is kept up very nicely and in keeping with its history. We received an upgrade at no extra charge. The breakfast was yummy and and ample for a continental breakfast. Room very comfy, all the amenities. We saw other rooms, all looked lovely. All the staff were very friendly...

Spent a lovely Sunday evening at the White Swan. So unassuming from the outside front, but the inside is outstanding! Be sure to look at the picture books that describe the remodel. The hostess and night staff were quite friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning again!

Three couples recently spent the weekend at White Swan Tavern in Chestertown, MD. We had a very nice stay and our hostess was friendly and helpful. One couple decided to change rooms, because they liked the new location better. Our hostess was very accommodating and made the change happily. But imagine our surprise when we received our bill and had...
