My friend and I arrived to Kotor with our backpacks and no accommodation plans. We had no issues finding rooms (or 'sobes') to rent throughout other parts in Montenegro, but Kotor seemed to be more difficult. As we were on a strict budget, we headed the opposite way from old town in hopes to find cheaper accommodation. After asking a...

Our stay at Eurocafe 33 was a mixed experience. The place walks a line between a hostel and a B&B. We had a private room with shared bath, shared kitchen. The kitchen and bath were always clean. We used the kitchen a bit because there's no breakfast, and nothing is "right around the corner" from the property. Kotor old town...

I suppose I should declare an interest before I start: we absolutely loved every last brick of Dubrovnik and its smily, helpful people and had only decided to visit Montenegro "because it was there" & so cross off another country on my 'to visit' list. First the good bit: the scenery is truly stunning. I had poo pooed the talk...

We stayed here last week and it was perfect for what we needed. It's not especially fancy but the rooms are clean, there's the option to self cater and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The private 'beach' area is also really lovely. It's about a 15-20 minute walk outside of Kotor which is actually a really good thing...

Decent place located about 20-30min walk from the center of Kotor. The family is nice and welcoming. I normally stay at hostels and B&Bs, but this place felt like you were staying at your aunt's house. You get a small room (but good enough) with one window on the roof. The place is clean and the bathrooms are adequate. There...

Located in Muo at about a 20 minute walk outside of the walled city of Kotor, this place is basically a homestay. Very simple, but cozy. The private stone "beach" in front of the house is perfect for relaxing and appreciating the breathtaking view of seemingly painted backdrop of the mountains by day and the lighted fortress by night. I...

We spent 3 days this week at this place, and we loved it! They are only 15 minutes walking from downtown - a pleasant walk alongside the water. They also have a private beach, with a view on Kotor: what a pleasure to swim in the morning and at night facing the town! Kotor is very nice, the whole bay...

If you have a car and need a base on lake Kotor, especially if you're travelling as a group or large family, this could be a great option. Situated in Muo, a 15-20 minute walk round the water from Kotor and overlooking the lake and old town, Eurocafe 33 is a family property with rooms for rent on a self...
