Staying here now. I can’t fall asleep because of all the noise - people running around and slamming doors. You can literally hear the people talking next door as if they are in your room. I’d call downstairs to complain but the phones aren’t working in the entire hotel. This place needs a serious upgrade. Old old old. Looks like something out of an inexpensive 90s motel. One of two TVs doesn’t work. Fixtures don’t match the holes in the wall and look like no one bothered to patch the wall when the toilet paper holder fell out and had to be replaced. Its nice to be on the slope but I would not stay here again until it’s had a major facelift with new blankets at a minimum (found some hairs in the fleece blankets. What hotel uses fleece? So dirty)
We stayed here recently mid week for a getaway to see the fall leaves. We've stayed here several times before and recently we had a nice, quiet stay, exactly what we were looking for. Our room was quiet. We got the view we asked for facing the slopes. Our room was clean. There is no food service right now because of COVID so we brought our own snacks for breakfast. They have Keurigs in each room so you can bring and/or make you own coffee. They do provide several pods, too. When we asked them if they would turn on the propane firepit for us (alone) they were happy to do so. We enjoyed a bottle of wine that we brought in adironack chairs around the firepit. The leaves were beautiful and did not disappoint.
Check-in was quick and easy. They did not have my room type available that I had pre-paid for as the elevator was broken and room unavailable. So they "upgraded" us to a different room that worked out fine. There is not much decor and the room was a bit run-down, but the bed was comfortable. There was water leaking very slowly from the line behind the toilet. Housekeeping knocked on our door a few minutes after 8AM, apologized and said she'd come back later. We said we'll be checking out at 11AM. Then, she came about 10 minutes later and said she forgot that she already asked us. Then, she came back a third time (all before 9AM) and said she forgot. Not a huge deal as the kids were awake by then. Overall, I would stay here again for the convenience of being on the slopes.…
Our room was the king luxury suite and when we arrived it was filthy - used sheets, things in toilet, trash on floor. We went away for an hour and came back to marginally better. We did not want to drive back 4 hours, so I used clorox wipes on every surface. The phones are broken and the door keys did not work for us at all so we had to keep going back to front desk ( because we were on hold for more than 10 minutes trying to call). There is no restaurant open, only the food court (and my teenage son got some sort of intestinal issue from the cheeseburger). Very pricey for what you get. Huge concern was the workers and hotel guests walking around with their mask around their chin or no masks. Very blasé about the mask mandate.
This is the second time staying at Wisp Lodge. True ski in/ski out lodge. We were allowed to check in early, much appreciated. Ski lockers are on the first floor, complimentary keys provided. Our room was on the 2nd floor, good shape, bed and pullout were both comfortable. Small sink and fridge provided. Great restaurants 0.5 miles away. The one recommendation that I could provide is the Internet could be better, had to switch over to my hotspot.
