We were passing through on our way to NJ to bypass Washington,DC. Clean room. Friendly staff. No surprises. A good one night stay. Close to a large amount of places to eat and the beach and boardwalk. Parking included and covered. We would stay again if in the area.
We decided on a kind of last minute vacation to Ocean City. We tend to stay at Marriott properties so booked the Fairfield and we’re glad we did. The entire property was bright and clean. The location was so much better than we originally thought - lots of good restaurants within walking distance and just a few blocks from the beach and the end of the boardwalk where you can catch a tram for $4 to the other end. There was a swimming pool - it’s very small and inside but there’s a nice deck off of it with tables and chairs. The breakfast was fine - typical hotel free breakfast. The staff we did interact with were all friendly. Never had a problem finding a parking spot although they do charge $10 extra a day for parking. Would not hesitate to stay again.
When we initially checked in, we immediately smelled cigarette smoke in our room (this is a non-smoking hotel). I wasn’t going to hold that against the hotel that people don’t adhere to the rules. We went back down to the front lobby; hotel management was very apologetic and quickly gave us a different room. This one was perfect - very roomy and no cigarette smell. The bed was very large (seemed like a California King), my girlfriend loved what the shampoo and conditioner affixed to the shower wall did with her hair (better than the one she brought), and I especially loved the lemon-scented body lotions in the bathroom (and I’ll admit - I put a bottle in my travel bag :-) ). The bathroom was pretty roomy; the water pressure in the shower wasn’t particularly strong (is it ever in hotels?), but it was fine. The fridge was the perfect size for the bottles of water we brought with us from home and for the leftovers we had when we went out for meals. There was a microwave, but we didn’t use it. The parking lot wasn’t the largest, but we parked in the covered section and never had trouble finding a spot close to the door. Plenty of lighting at night, so we weren’t concerned about safety. There was a grassy section for people who brought their pets with them, and even though there were poop bags available, we noticed someone didn’t bother to clean up after their dog (don’t be disrespectful people - curb your dog!). I did manage to fit in some time to check out the pool. It was almost closing time, but a half hour was all I needed; plus I had it to myself. Not too deep (5 1/2 feet was the deepest part) and though the pool did have some water rust on the bottom, that didn’t bother me. It would have been nice to have gone during the day because there is a sun deck to lie out and dry off. Maybe next time. The breakfast buffet. Okay; I’m not going to be too nit-picky - there were plenty of options. The items they had during our stay were odd-looking “fried” eggs, spinach & egg quiche, egg/sausage/ cheese muffins, chicken sausage, wheat toast, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, a selection of cereals, a medley of fruits (one day only; the other days bananas only), milk, teas, coffee and juice. I would have preferred scrambled eggs with shredded cheddar cheese and raisin bread, but I wasn’t going to complain - there was enough to fill up my belly and get my day started. And if you need more of a caffeine jolt or sugar fix, there is a Dunkin right next door. And a Denny’s just up the street (though if you’re here, I’d recommend Barn 34 - the best crab omelette I’ve ever had on my life). This hotel was convenient to everywhere I needed to be - a brisk ten minute drive to the conference center (which is why I was in town) and ten minutes in the other direction to where the main action is on the Boardwalk. Conceivably, you could walk to the beach; you can see it from the hotel and it’s about a two block walk. I believe the physical Boardwalk itself does extend that far, but I don’t know if there are any shops or places to eat on the Boardwalk at that point. The housekeeping staff were very considerate, quiet and very friendly. They do a great job and should be commended. My only quibble (which is minor) is the close proximity with the balconies. If you go to sit out on your balcony and the person in the room next to yours decides to do the same thing, you’re basically sitting right next to each other with absolutely no divider or semblance of privacy. And in my case, I had to turn around and go back inside because the person next to me decided to start smoking. All in all, we had a great stay (fantastic sunny weather, wonderful friendly staff, quiet and clean contemporary room) and would have no issues with staying at this hotel again in the future.…
I was very pleased with my choice of hotels, but this was my 2nd choice, the 1st choice hotel was terrible and I immediately (within 20 minutes) used my option to leave. I was greeted with smiles, the lobby was very nice and the room was nicer! I have to give a shout-out to Jordan C., she was wonderful every day of our 4-day stay! I would recommend and return to this hotel when visiting Ocean City, MD.
Clean. Clean. Clean. I was so impressed with the cleanliness of the room when we checked in and they did a great mid week clean for my husband and I. We were a short walk from the beach and directly next to a bus stop. The staff at the front desk was accommodating and kind, always smiling. A truly wonderful stay!
My daughter and I stayed for four nights. The rooms are small but clean. And clean is the only thing that matters. It did not disappoint in that area. The people working there were friendly, attentive and personable. We couldn’t figure out how to turn off the under cabinet lighting and we were helped in a millisecond by housekeeping. My only ‘issue’ and this isn’t the properties fault is that the towels are not of the best quality. My guess is most select Inns and Suites don’t have the best of the best when it comes to towels. Coupled with the intense humidity, everything seemed damp. That’s not the hotels fault….just Mother Nature’s. I want to thank the cleaning personnel for being friendly and taking pride in the property.
So we are here for 2 nights and I find out that rooms are serviced every other day. No one told us this at check in. The problem is that the toilet was not cleaned when we first checked in. I know as I worked housekeeping before and have been cleaning my own house since the age of 15. The excuse of COVID is no longer an acceptable excuse. This was pure laziness and obviously quality checks are not done.
Great location ,and clean property with plenty of restaurants walking distance from the front door. Kelly from NJ was working the front desk and she gave plenty of recommendations and dinner suggestions. Parking was tight, but it's free.
An impromptu trip by the wife and I found us registered here for the night. After a long day of shopping in Delaware we came down to OC to relive some memories of days gone by. The staff greeted us very warmly. The hotel was very welcoming and bright. Our check-in was trouble free, everything was explained clearly and the woman was extremely polite. It was very refreshing. Our room was excellent and everything was clean and nice. The bathroom was spotless and the room smelled of fresh linens. We went out to dinner and upon return retired to our room for a quiet night. Breakfast the next morning was surprisingly good, hot, and the choices of cold stuff and drinks was very good. The staff (Everyone of them we met) greeted us with a smile and a hearty "Good Morning"!! Overall it was a great and pleasant experience and we left rested and ready for the day. If I had to find one flaw it would be the cleaning agent used on the linoleum floors. Whatever it is, it causes your shoe to stick to it as if something had been spilled. I know it was not that because it occurred wherever we went. Minor flaw for an overwhelmingly nice stay! Thank you…
My husband & I planned a mini winter vacation & stayed at THE Fairfield Inn Mariott in Ocean City.i It was our 1st time & we loved it so much. The staff was very accomodating from our booking to the day we left. The breakfast each day was delicious & very freshly made each day. The General Manager Stephen Zuravin made is feel like "family". We are booking our upcoming summer vacation back with The Fairfield Marriott in Ocean City in Maryland.
