I spent 3 days at this hotel …..room was ok everything was working as it should be . However there was no room service / clean up !! For the excuse of covid ! . Breakfast wasn’t bad but limited options…just plain bagels no other types of bread….. ONE SMALL TOASTER for all guests is a JOKE….. no fruits or hard boiled eggs…… Over all we enjoyed our stay ….One more negative thing …there was a family SMOKING at the pool ..I don’t know how is that possible and why no one stopped them ? ….
My wife and I vacation in Ocean City about several times each year. We normally stay at the Best Western Plus on 60th. They were booked so we stayed at the Holiday Inn. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The exterior landscaping area was not very well kept when we stayed in July. The property next door had construction which may have added to this. Overall the stay was good, but we missed the great hospitality and friendliness that we always get at the Best Western Plus.
Poor customer experience from the time you check in at the front desk. Staff at the front desk makes you feel unwelcome not sure why, explain in a harsh tone what is allowed and not allowed during our stay. As soon as you are in the room, saw Phone was out of order, probably intentionally so that no one has to attend, toiletries were not filled either. Next day noted Congested breakfast area, probably over 100 rooms and there was only one toaster. Not sure what they think when hotel is full during busy summer travel. No bread or bagel during one of the day, excuse was the bagels still frozen, so did not serve, not sure what that means. Did not expect this kind of customer experience from a national brand like this but I guess hotel probably be going in the same direction of airline during these Covid travel days. This is my 2nd and last visit to this hotel. However, we will definitely visit the north side park, a hidden gem and the reason for our stay at the hotel.…
NIce resort hotel near the beach easily walk distance from hotel to beach, Poor choice of breakfast. lack of bread chice, lack of hot food items lack of rotated hot meakls, for three days same sausage links. less choice of eggs
This is a very good option if you want a clean hotel at a reasonable cost. However, the walls are a bit thin and there was a regional cheer leading as well as youth soccer tournaments in town the weekend we were there and kids were running up and down the halls. Unfortunately they are still not providing housekeeping services. Apparently the virus is pretty smart and knows when someone is gone for the day and then it will attack the housekeeping staff but if the folks have checked out than it is safe to enter. In other words it is better to see dirty linens lining the hallways than to be picked up or to either hire staff or give them haz mat suits to make a bed and change towels. They will say it is safety but I say it is the corporation trying to recap losses from 2020. GET BACK to NORMAL and provide services for the money we pay you!!!!!…
Proximity to beach and gorgeous park is why we stayed here over Labor Day. Parking spots at the beach off Coastal Highway in the location of this hotel were plentiful. We stayed 4 nights and for some reason I couldn’t get comfortable here. By the 4th night I couldn’t wait to get home. Hotel could use a makeover and keep the common areas cleaner. Our room AC was wacky - either too cold or shut off for too long and room got warm almost to sweating point. Things I wish they would improve: room 516 needs blackout curtains for strong sun rising directly into room, would like a comforter that doesn’t slip out the duvet cover every night, the shampoo and conditioner bottles were empty, not enough places in bathroom to hang wet towels or washcloths, and most importantly several hotel guests were not courteous after 11 pm - raised their voices and running through hallways, let their doors slam shut. I woke up several times from noises in hallways on the 5th floor and far from elevator. There are no signs requiring face masks and they do not enforce guests to wear masks. Hotel guests would not wait for the next elevator so most times I got off to take stairs to 5th floor. Nothing to do with hotel: In general I was disappointed with the restaurant situation in ocean city over this holiday weekend. It seemed they couldn’t keep up with the number of people in town. Must be the pandemic and shortages of workers. They ran out of several items on menu early in evening, long wait times to be seated and place orders, closed early, and several would not accept takeout orders even though their websites all offered takeout. So dine EARLY in OC.…
Staff was nice enough to allow me and my family to check in 2 hours early since I am a IHG gold elite member. This gave us more time at the beach on checkin day. That was appreciated and they were able to accommodate us away from the elevator on a higher floor. Thanks for that. The room was clean and as it should be. The carpets should be removed very soon and replaced cause they are dingy looking. Highly suggest this. The beds were soft, clean and comfortable. Like most hotels, the pillows are big and fluffy and tough to sleep with so if you can, bring your own flatter pillows from home. Shower got hot ; almost too hot and water pressure was excellent. My only complaint about the bathroom was that the shower gel was completely empty and we had to get an extra bar of soap from the maid in replacement. Also, the maid said they were out of lotion too. TV, ac, lights, microwave, mini fridge and sinks and all outlets worked good. We didn't use the Keurig machine cause we got coffee down stairs. The breakfast was nothing spectacular but you can't complain about a free breakfast. The first morning they had scrambled eggs and something else. They had cinnamon rolls, juice, cereal, bagels, cream cheese, coffee, decaf, milk, muffins and yogurt. The second day they had mini cheese omelettes and sausages. The second morning, we were woken up to the hotel fire alarm. We took it seriously at 8am and got dressed while the alarm pierced our ears while we were half asleep. However it was a false alarm because there was no fire and ppl were still going in to get breakfast. That was irritating, especially waking us up. Staff again came through when I requested a late check out and allowed me 1 extra hour stay. Thank you for this. We were able to play at the beach one more time before leaving.…
Stayed here for 2 nights with family as recommended by Trip Advisor, noting it met our criteria: family-friendly, near the beach, complimentary breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi. The room was generally clean amid the whiff of disinfectant spray. However, the shampoo dispenser was empty so we had to ask from the front desk. As noted in other reviews, housekeeping is minimal due to COVID-19 precautions. If you need extra towels, change of linens, etc. you need to ask the front desk. Guest take out trash by leaving it outside the hall but gets picked up regularly. Cleaning of rooms only occurs upon check out. Due to COVID-19, breakfast is all packed in a to-go bag. The beach is just about 2-3 blocks walk across Coastal Highway and not crowded. The staff are very kind and courteous. To name a few: Asia, Norbert, Buck and of course Marie. The indoor pool could be warmer and towels stocked regularly. I think once COVID is over, this place is worth coming back to.…
Hotel isn’t cleaned properly. Found numerous hairs and debris in our room. The carpet is dated, filthy and faded. The over all condition of the property is dated. The wall paper is peeling, there is mold in the bathroom sink etc. The breakfast in the morning is continental in nature and has few healthy, fresh options. We stayed for one night. Glad we didn’t stay longer. The one good thing is the hotel is about a block from the beach and on the main road with lots of restaurants. This hotel might work for one night. I wouldn’t stay any longer. I’m not sure why this hotel has a trip advisor badge. This hotel is definitely well below average.
Normal this hotel is pretty good, but it seems now it is ago of Covid. There is no housekeeping, if you run out of shampoo etc you sre on your own. If your booking in ocean city, leave this hotel until after Covid
