We stayed one night for a birthday celebration. Eleven friends fit comfortably and took over the hotel. Cindy could not have been more accommodating and the hotel was perfect for a relaxing evening. I would highly recommend it!

From the time we arrived, our host Cindy made the whole stay stress free and nice. The breakfast she made was so good. Looking forward to going again. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The Wicomico River rolls by the front of the hotel and there is a 2 car ferry that crosses the river in front of the...

A hidden gem on the Wicomico River and a beautiful place to wake up. Take the trip down Whitehaven Road, or cross the Wicomico River on the Whitehaven ferry, kick your shoes off and let Cindy and Jefferson take care of you for a few days. Wonderful breakfasts, bicycles, kayaks and egrets, oh my! Take a trip on the 300+...

My wife and I found this gem while bike riding. We couldn't believe this treasure was only 7 miles from our home across the ferry! We immediately thought of staying there New Years Eve with good friends. We celebrated the New Year with the local residents who brought delicious pot luck dishes including baked ham, wild goose pie, fresh oysters...

What a delightful inn! Be sure to look at the "before and after" as the innskeeper has done a marvelous job in preserving this historic building. The little village really takes you back to a slower pace. Who knew that a place like this was so close?? My husband and I slept so well: soooo quiet and peaceful! Our room...

Whitehaven Bed and Breakfast Hotel (Bed and Breakfast) is a place that I visit numerous times a year. I go to the Inn by myself to get away for a quite weekend retreat or with friends and family for just fun. There are restaurants on the river in Salisbury to watch the sun set. Wineries and breweries to enjoy good...

We stayed Sunday to Friday in the first week of August and it was a real treat. Cindy is the consummate hostess, beautiful, charming, an outstanding chef, and a nurturing soul. Jefferson has taken complete ownership of his responsibilities, and rare trait these days, and between the two of them our every need was seen to. A refurbished old hotel...

We reserved the West Wing but when we got there Jefferson said we could use an upgrade room that wasn't rented out (I forgot the name of the room). What a beautiful room! It looked right out at the river and had its own screen porch attached. Everything about this place was idyllic, like we had been escorted off from...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Whitehaven Hotel is a beautifully restored, historical Bed & Breakfast nestled on the Wicomico River with two docks for visiting boaters and sits beside a 300 year old Ferry (said to be the oldest in the Continental United States). It is a scenic 20 minute ride to Salisbury, Princess Anne or 45 min. ride to the Maryland beaches, but "who needs beaches with our views" and Maryland crabs waiting to be opened and savored only a few minutes down the road. The Whitehaven Hotel provides kayaks and bikes for its guests, I might add that the kayaking is unique with many vistas and waters ways to investigate, while our property is a sanctuary for birds. On any given day you may see eagles, osprey, purple martins, heron, hawks, red winged black birds, humming birds and many more species. It's a gem of a find. Our motto "Enter as Guests and leave as Friends." ... more   less
