We so enjoy the comfort and location of this beautiful inn that my husband and I have made a tradition of coming down at least in Spring and Autumn for our Cape getaways. The welcome we get from Brian, Charlie and their wonderful staff remains fantastic - it's good to be greeted

Charming old Captain's house now a 12 room inn. This is the first time we have stayed here. Wonderful hosts and a great breakfast included. Complimentary soda and water provided. We arrived late but, Brian, the innkeeper greeted us. Great place to stay!

It looks good but several things lacking- tho an old house, it could be better soundproofed - window sills could be cleaner and windows easier to open - polyester sheets (made in china) and no choice of pillows - only very rubbery bouncy ones - very strict rules - heaven forbid y

I am very sorry to hear that your experience here at the Old Manse was not to your liking. We pride ourselves in making our guests feel relaxed - as if they are at home. I will try to answer some of your concerns here that are warranted. The Inn was built in 1801, so I am sure you can imagine how expensive it would be to 'soundproof' each of the guest rooms. However, I would be very interested in what reasonable ideas you would have. For most, it is the experience of the 200+ year old home that adds to the charm of the experience, including the old wood floors that creak and are uneven due to the settling of the house over the centuries. With the windows open, I apologize that your window sills became dirty from the outside. I will be sure to have our staff look more closely at this when the guests open the windows. Your guest room was suggested for you via telephone as this room was freshly renovated given your stated requirements. The Inn was completely full the weekend you stayed. We would have been more than happy to move you to another room if one was available. Our Welcome Reception was an idea that we had so that our guests could enjoy meeting each other in the afternoons before going on to evening activities. We have tried many different time frames, a half hour earlier and later times, but 4-5 in the afternoons were the most convenient we found. I am sorry that this time was not convenient for you and I showed you the sign only when asked to remind you when the Reception was held. We are always happy to make suggestions for restaurants and make reservations, as we have done this many times when requested, but I did not receive any such request from you and we do not like to intrude when guests seem like they have plans in place of their own. Again, I am sorry that your experience was not a good one. Perhaps the bed & breakfast experience in an historic home is not a good fit for you?

First time visit to this bed and breakfast inn. Brain the innkeeper could not have been more helpful and congenial. Wonderful old inn located close enough to the beach and many very good restaurants. Close to several interesting trails for walking.

Are any rooms handicap accessible with a roll in shower?
There is only one room on the ground floor. I can't remember if the shower was accessible. Call them. They are great to deal with. Everything you want is on the ground floor of the inn, so if the shower works, it's a pretty good setup, especially for an old mansion.
