We had a wonderful stay at the Whalewalk Inn and Spa. The innkeepers were very accommodating when we found ourselves juggling unexpected personal difficulties that would have otherwise affected our trip. They went the extra mile and assisted us. The room was large and clean and welcoming. Our child was thrilled at the deep whirlpool tub. (He wants us to...

Stayed at the Whalewalk Inn over Labor Day weekend. Innkeepers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. This was our second stay at the Inn and just as nice as the first. We stayed in the same room (#3) which was extremely clean and comfortable. Homemade breakfast each morning. One thing I would recommend is...

On short notice we needed to find weekend accommodation for a Rabbi visiting to lead a funeral service for our family far from her home. Somehow Elaine found space in one of the nicest rooms, and offered a reduced rate because of the circumstances. Without our mentioning it, Elaine asked us about dietary and other restrictions and ensured that they...

Always a wonderful stay at the Whalewalk. It's a beautiful, secluded property, near the town of Orleans. Rooms are well-kept and comfortable, without the sterile feel of chain accommodations. The owners are hands-on and make sure their guests are taken care of. Breakfast? Yeah, why not? It's a beautiful setting and the food is inventive and very tasty.

We stayed for four days the week before July 4th. It is a nice property; secluded, quiet, generally well-kept. Birds flitted around the trees on the grounds. The staff is friendly and responsive, but unobtrusive. We stayed in the Guest House East suite, which I would recommend. The sitting area was nice to have. Breakfasts are at a set time...

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Whalewalk Inn. Our hosts were warm and welcoming, and our accommodations gracious and comfortable. We stayed in a suite with a bedroom, bath, living room and small, but fully-equipped kitchenette. We prepared our own lunches for hiking and beach-sitting, but the breakfasts prepared by our hosts and served outside on...

I booked The Whalewalk Inn & Spa for two nights for a short but sweet honeymoon for our freshly married selves. I figured since we were forced to keep it short, we may as well go all out and make it the best three days we could spend. We loved it the moment we pulled into the driveway. We met...

We stayed at the Whalewalk for two nights to celebrate my wife's birthday. I booked through Amazon Vacations, which was a mistake. After confirming my booking dates, I got no further information. I got ahold of one of the co-owners mere hours before we were to arrive (after a message left much earlier was ignored) and learned that all of...

I love the hospitality of the owners. It's family owned and operated and when you are a guest, you feel like you are part of that family. Breakfast is amazing every morning. My husband and I book the Penthouse every year for our anniversary. I feel at home. The living room walks out to a patio, the grounds are well-maintained,...

We received a gift certificate for a wedding present. We scheduled a long weekend visit and purposely selected a room that we felt was comfortable and private away from the main house. When we got there, the owners had decided to give our selected room to someone else and put us in a room directly within the patio area at...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Reader’s Choice Silver Award Winner for the Outer Cape for 2011Readers of Cape Cod Life Magazine have voted, and we are the Silver 2011 winners of the Best of the Cape and Islands Bed & Breakfast Inn on the Outer Cape! The Boston Globe Magazine Travel Section, Sunday, May 15, 2011 highlighted different summer destinations for New England. Eastham was described as a “Cape Cod retreat, home of the National Seashore, where rolling dunes serve as a soft welcome mat for the steady surf.” Only two businesses were mentioned -- The Whalewalk Inn & Spa, as the lodging choice; and Arnold’s Lobster House on Route 6, as the restaurant of choice.Get away from the hustle and bustle of your every day life. Come and relax at Cape Cod’s most romantic and secluded country Inn – quietly tucked away on a country road, but centrally located to all the attractions that make Cape Cod so special. Walk the ‘Outer Cape’ beaches, listening to the soothing sound of the waves, lapping on Cape Cod Bay or crashing at the National Seashore. Partake in some of the finest dining that the Cape has to offer, beginning here each day with a gourmet breakfast served to you at your own private table.Become a part of the history that makes this Inn so special. The Inn was built in 1830 for Henry Harding, a renowned whaling captain. In the early nineteen hundreds it became a gentleman’s farm, known as Whalewalk Farm, then owned by the Kent family of PR Lorillard tobacco fame. With a cow and horse still living in what is now the Salt Box Cottage, the farm was purchased in 1953 and turned into an inn. Since that time it has been authentically restored and creatively redecorated. The common rooms are filled with the Innkeeper’s extensive Waterford Crystal collection, 19th century country antiques from England and France, fresh flowers, and oriental rugs for a warm welcome to start your stay. ... more   less
