Very clean, well-equipped large room and comfortable king bed in the main house, with huge double shower - just what we needed at the end of our 2-week tour. Very efficient checking in /check out. Some people have noted that breakfast wasn't included in the price, but that makes it easier for you eat as much or as little as you want - it was definitely an extensive menu and you could not complain about portions! Friendly service.

We will not return. The room keys are left outside after 6pm, which is an extraordinary lack of security. The whole room reeked of chlorine so badly that it hurt our throats and nostrils. The bathroom had no place to put a cosmetic bag or dob kit. There was barely room to stand at the old sink. The Inn has no ice available to guests. It was a huge disappointment.

This was my first time coming back here after the new ownership and I will say I was very pleasantly surprised with all the renovations! We stayed in one of the newly updated motor lodges this time. The new bathroom was roomy and clean and bright. The new mattress was very comfortable. We had a lovely breakfast in the main Inn and the Chef even took the time to check in and say hello! John at the front desk even delighted me by accommodating my request to take a peek at a few rooms in the main inn that were not occupied, they were beautiful and we will definitely be booking again to stay in the main Inn too. Such a delightful experience and wonderful staff.

I can’t say enough great things about this venue. Very clean, calming, beautiful scenery, great rooms, and the cherry on top was the food. Chef Dan is such an amazing cook. I learned they do events here like weddings, parties etc, and I lived closer I would use them for all my catering needs. I sat outside this morning to eat my breakfast and overlooking the Annisquam River. The sun was out, the sky was clear and it was a beautiful crisp fall morning. Another thing about Chef Dan being so accommodating is he took my dietary needs in mind. I do not eat pork and since the breakfast contained bacon and sausage, he surprised me by bringing me a small plate of wonderfully cooked steak tips that were just bursting with flavor. All the items on his buffet (of course minus the bacon and sausage because I didn’t eat that) were so tasty. His home fries were just perfectly seasoned and cooked and the pastries were just spot on. I will be returning to this place every time I am in this area. Thank you guys for such a wonderful experience. I did have a very small hiccup with my reservation, but with John and Dan’s assistance my stay never missed a beat. I wish there were more places like this where I lived.

DONT RISK BOOKING HERE!! Booked almost 6 months in advance and crossed the country only to arrive and be told they overbooked and absolutely refused to find a resolution or a refund, and during the busiest time of year with no other availability anywhere around. No apology, no help finding another room, nothing. Rude, rude, rude! Completely unprofessional attitude. Choose anywhere else! Also, after posting a review, me and my party are being blocked by the business on social media.. UNPROFESSIONAL!

Absolutely garbage service. Booked and paid for a room back in May, came in October and they somehow didn't know we were coming. Even after they found our reservation, they refused to let us stay because they're "full." They also had bookings sitting out for guests who hadn't checked in yet at 7pm. So how are you turning away paid and booked guests that are standing right in front of you? No apologies, no attempt to accommodate us, nothing. Absolute zero regard for us having already paid them MONTHS ago and being from 6 states away. Just put us out on our ass due to THEIR mistake. Do not stay here. You will be treated like you're nothing. And then the cowards will block you on social media so customers can't see truthful reviews.

Great little place. Very minimal. Wonderful breakfast and views. Great little drive from Boston. Will definitely return. Would like to come back one day. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed our short stay. Hopefully we can come back one day with our families. They would enjoy this great place. We did.

The inn is beautiful and the accompanying motor lodge is perfect for a stay. Our family had 2 rooms in the motor lodge area with beautiful views of the water and marsh area. An extra bonus were the amazing flowers growing all around. The inn has an incredible covered outdoor area for outside dining or special events like weddings, parties.

The main house and surrounding garden is lovely. We stayed in the motel area. These are rudimentary rooms - very plain and old but reasonably comfortable and we did not have any issues that others who review this property negatively. It is in a very expensive tourist area in terms of proximity to Gloucester so $150 per night is reasonable. Normally you would get a much nicer room for that price, but not in a beach area. This is the equivalent of motel 6. BUT....the restaurant was terrific at least for breakfast which is what we had. Very nice staff at the house and restaurant. You get what you pay for and in this case it is a clean room for the night with no charm but adequate. I wouldn't stay there again as I would pay a bit more for a modern room. This motel seems to have been built in the 1940s or 1950s. But if you are on a budget and just want a bed, it's fine. And again, very nice staff and breakfast (not included in the price of the room).
