I have had the opportunity to stay at Kaede on a number of occasions. The rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet and a great place to get a good night rest. Breakfast is always served with a smile and the food is excellent. I have not had a chance to try the Japanese style breakfast but will have to next time...

There are not many alternatives for lodging if you wish to stay in Ipswich. It doesn't really matter so long as there is one good one and there is. Kaede B&B is VERY conveniently located to the downtown area (a two minute walk) and is very comfortable. Jason, the host, is interesting to talk with and is a good source...

We stayed at this lovely B & B last year in the center of Ipswich. Our room on the first floor was very accommodating and the Japanese breakfast was delicious. The breakfast reminded me of a traditional Japanese breakfast that I had in Kyoto, Japan in a traditional Japanese Inn in 2002. We were also very fortunate to taste Makiko's...

At a friend's recommendation, stayed here on Oct 26th. Booked the Kaede (Maple) room and was pleasantly surprised. Room was well-appointed and the bay windows add to the ambiance of the room. Felt like I had gone back to Colonial times with a touch of Japan to boot! Trip's first good night sleep. I had the windows slightly opened and,...

A lovely B&B located right in the center of Ipswich. The Museum and restaurants are a short walk away. The hosts are delightful and helpful. The rooms tastefully decorated and clean. Te breakfasts, both Japanese and American were delicious.

We booked this place only one day in advance looking for a place to stay on our way to Maine. It was reasonably priced and much more enticing than staying at a budget hotel. The Japanese influence can be seen in the décor and smelled throughout the home, probably due to the cooking. It is a very large home, the...

This is a place with history and the owner knows it! It was a well-kept property, nice grounds, and beautiful interiors. It was clean and comfortable. I will come again. The breakfast was great! It was close to downtown. The owners were very friendly.

My husband and I were looking to spend 2 days at Crane Beach and just wanted a place to rest our heads for the night. We had stayed at Kaede before and knew it would fit the bill. There is nothing fancy at the inn, but the innkeepers are very welcoming and we felt very comfortable. The room was pleasant...

The owners are friendly, welcoming and attentive. The rooms are clean and quaint. Good parking, very safe, close to shops and beach. And the food is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this inn, and would definitely stay there again.

The Kaede was my first stay at a B&B. Mixing Japanese decor with a New England area was unique. Lovely photos, furniture and artwork throughout the home. Due to bookings, I actually stayed in 2 rooms: the Willow and Chestnut. Both very clean, comfortable beds, private, quiet. Jason & Makiko were great hosts, friendly and helpful. Be sure to indulge...

“We stayed in Kashi, a two room suite, and liked it very much. The second room is a small living room with a futon sofa. There is a door from that room into, I believe, the house's kitchen, so sound does come through (dishes and low sound of voices). I am a very light sleeper, but was not at all bothered/wakened by the sounds, which were only there in the morning and early evening. I only mention it in case a very sound sensitive person were going to be sleeping in that second room, although I'd recommend earplugs to anyone who's a light sleeper.”

“We chose a room without TV, because we wanted to spend time in the area, this was also good because we ended up chatting more with the hosts, when we went to see a weather report.”
