I just want to thank Deena and her manager for the excellent service my husband and I received this weekend. This was a halfway point stop and close to where we needed to be during the Day. Will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Worcester.
I stayed here for a couple of nights while in town for a job interview, and the calm, welcoming atmosphere really offset my nerves! The staff were super friendly and made me feel at home, my room was spacious and comfortable (with a really nice view), and the breakfast was very good. There's plenty of parking, and it's not too far from downtown Worcester, with restaurants, shopping, and plenty of outdoor space.
We have stayed here many times, but our one-bedroom suite in our recent visit included a clogged sink, mold across the bathtub, and missing toiletries. We pointed out the problems after the first night, but they were unaddressed. When we complained after the second night, the front desk attendant told us that there was nothing she could do and that a manager was never available unless we called and happened to catch them when they were free. The property has unfortunately fallen into a state of disrepair with a management who ignores complaints rather than resolving them.
I booked a 1BR suite so that my family and I could attend a concert at the DCU Center. The location was good and the property was quiet. Upon arrival I confirmed with the front desk that my room was feather free and had some extra bedding. I was assured it was. I go to lay down and found feather pillows. I visit the desk and reiterated that I needed foam pillows and some extra bedding. We go t grab some dinner and come back….still no foam pillows and the bedding is nowhere to be found. Go back to the front desk after the night shift took over and finally got bedding and foam pillows. It took a tremendous amount of effort to get what I needed. When we arrived to our floor the stink of weed was so bad I got nauseous. The smell lingered for our entire stay. The room was ok but the bathroom was a train wreck! The shower curtain looks like someone had a fight with it. Holes, wrinkles and generally tired. The bathtub handle fell off in my hand when I tried to turn the water on and the drain was plugged with years worth of hair and mold. The tub must have had a hole because it had a big almost color matched sticker on it and you could feel a dip in the surface of the tub. Finally the breakfast was different….eggs were literally burned and sausages were cold and dry. Bagels and other pastries were stale and there was no cereal without added sugar. If you like applejacks and Fruit Loops you were good. If I were a Marriott property manager I would be embarrassed to claim this place.…
Tired property that needs modernization and upgrading throughout. Parking fee is absurd for this location. Staff is great and does a good job. Breakfast was good and was socially distanced to a degree. Great location near lots to do in Worcester and more. Make this a better property soon.
I have stayed in at least 20 residence inn’s along with several Hampton Inn Homewood suites courtyard in Fairfield inn I am a diamond Hilton member and a gold Marriott member. Yes residence inn would not deliver extra sheets and blanket for the pull out sofa which was unmade they did not have extra pillows besides the two pillows on the king bed. We had to go to the lobby to get the bedding. Room had no USB ports anywhere. The oatmeal at breakfast was terrible very watered down although the second morning it was better they had no salt and pepper the first morning and when I asked for some they brought one package of salt to the table for three adults they did not bring any pepper the milk was a gallon of 1% or a gallon of skim milk I think the book “big big fat lie is“ is correct so I want whole milk if you want one percent or 2% you can mix that with skim. The next day they served only skim milk and 1% hard to make high fat content with that which is healthier for you arteries and your diabetes. I am a physician who stays up-to-date not somebody who believes in the big fat lie from General Mills in the American Heart Association from the 1960s. The second morning they had one grinder of salt and pepper instead of individual packages. It did not produce fine graded salt and was not a sanitary is the individual packages. So overall it is still a residence inn and in my opinion better than a lot of other hotels but because of service I would have to read it worse one of the worse places I have stayed in out of the ones mentioned. And a double the price it is far worse than “Americas best value hotel“ a new chain that I haven’t yet found in the east…
This had to be the most depressing hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Carpet in the halls is dark and once I opened the door to our room, everything got even darker. However, if you like brown, you’ll be very happy with the room! Bed was comfortable and the towels were nice and fairly thick. Room smelled musty and like cigarette smoke. The room was so hot and hard to regulate the temperature. Because it was a suite, the AC was in a closet in the bedroom near the end of the bed so you could feel the air blowing on you. Also, the door of that closet was filthy. No laundry bag. No bar soap. Happy to get out of there this morning.
The filthiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Plates crusted with the previous occupants food. Clearly had been wiped down with a rag but not washed. Bathroom showers were moldy. Had to Tilex them myself before we used them. Rooms were dark with low wattage light bulbs and too few lamps. Bathrooms are tiny. Asked the maid for more towels on our second day and she refused - said we had to call the front desk and wait for them to be delivered. I’m sure that’s not her fault, but it’s a lousy policy for a place that isn’t currently offering daily housekeeping. Place reeked of cigarette smoke. Floors were the dirtiest I’ve ever seen. Spilled some water in the kitchen when we arrived and wiped it up - paper towel was black with dirt. On the plus side, the front desk staff was very nice and the beds were comfortable.…
Front desk staff is friendly, prompt and helpful. Other than that, AVOID this hotel. Hallways smell of cigarettes and cannabis. Dirty tissue and portable ac unit in 1st room. New room Bathroom was disgusting ; dust covered vent, mildew covering ceiling and walls. Bed was sunken and depressed.
While it was a good location and nicely appointed, the Residence Inn was disappointing. The internet was poor which made getting information difficult. The lighting was dim. The kitchen really needed another light. The hotel was out of any kind of dish detergent and you have to wash your dishes because they don't provide many dishes or much silverware. This was July of 2021 so breakfast was served in brown paper bags at the front desk. That was Ok, but if you get a bagel, you do not get butter, jam, or cream cheese.
