Stayed in a one bedroom suite. Living room with sofa sleeper & recliner, kitchen, large table dividing kitchen & living room. Spacious separated bedroom with closet & small desk. Large bathroom. Nice room layout. Comfy beds. Room was clean & quiet. Dog friendly which is why we stayed here. The bonus was the friendly staff!
Great location. Rooms are super quiet. Staff is excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Elevator was always quick. Free laundry is available. Nice selection of items for purchase in pantry. If you are traveling with pets, please note minimum charge of $75. We stayed three days so that was not terrible. But for one night that’s excessive.
Don’t accept room 212! We stayed at the Candlewood Suites Brighton on June 4 in Room 212. Shortly after we went to bed, a mechanical noise started that woke us. 30 seconds of noise, then 1-1/2 minutes of silence. Followed by 30 seconds of noise and 1-1/2 minutes of silence. Again and again all night long – we didn’t sleep at all. It wasn’t anything in our room (AC, refrigerator, etc), it was a building noise. When we checked out, we shared our experience with the pleasant clerk at the front desk who said she’d notify Maintenance and make sure we received a different room next time we stayed there. Gee….thanks, we won't be coming back. When we were driving away, we noticed a large vent into the building right below where our room was – likely venting into a mechanical room. Seems a likely source of the equipment noise. An additional note: there is only ONE handicap accessible room of the 6 in the hotel that has a roll-in shower. The rest only have assist bars. Our travelling companion cannot step over a tub side so had to go without a shower during her stay. Also, the transition from the hard flooring to the carpet was a high molding and was difficult to roll over.…
After a long day on the road, smiling Alicia at the front desk was warmly welcoming and check in was a breeze. Automatic front doors made wheeling in the luggage cart so much easier. Two elevators meant almost no wait time, another big yay. Room was beautiful & obviously designed to optimize space, with ample desk/table area. Kudos to housekeeping as everything was spotless and sparkling. Full size fridge, small sink, microwave, two burner stovetop and even a dishwasher! Coffeemaker, toaster, dishes & silverware. I slept well on sumptuous linens & fluffy pillows, the bed so comfortable I had a hard time getting up the next morning! Jacob at the front desk was just as friendly & efficient as Alicia had been. In fact, everyone on staff was cheerful & helpful. Would DEFINITELY stay here again :-)…
The person at the front desk, Jacob, was not wearing a mask. Asked why not, he said he hadn’t worn a mask for a long time. Asked if he realized that, regardless of his vaccination status, he could be spreading the virus, he said yes he did know that. This was a time when infections from the omicron variant were peaking In Michigan, the US, and the world.
Checked into this hotel that was rated as pet friendly for a one night stay priced at $68. After checking in, I was notified that the front desk had forgotten to have me sign the pet policy. Upon review of the document, I saw that they would be charging $75 for the pet fee - more than the price of the room! When I told the desk Clark that this was unacceptable, she encouraged me to lie and say my pet is a service dog. I shared that I would not do this and was told that I would be charged the fee, or must vacate the property - despite the fact that they had already checked me in without disclosing this.
After spending all day at a hospital, I arrived and checked into the hotel. Collapsed from exhaustion. When I woke up to find I did not get the accessible room I reserved, and confirmed at check in. I would suggest checking out the whole room to make sure. It's what you reserved .
I rented this just because it is close to some of my family and I just needed a getaway. Honestly, this is probably the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed at and they have absolutely everything!! I was very impressed. I would definitely stay here again with no hesitation. I’ve never even written a review before but I’m here right now and I was compelled to give them a good one!!
My husband has to sleep in a recliner so we stay in alot of Candlewood Suites. This location was great...close to restaurants, hotel was extremely clean, bed was comfy, and water pressure was great! My husband is 6 ft. and said the recliner was comfy.
Came to town for a weekend of dog showing in Novi. Upon arrival I was greeted with a smiling face at the front desk. They had a nice jar of dog treats as well. You know you are in a dog friendly location when the treats are front and center. I was even asked about my dogs personally and felt like it really mattered and that the staff really wanted to know! We got our request for a ground floor room as well. Which makes coming in and out with our pets much easier. Traveling for dog competitions can be quite the experience and can be quite a bit of work. So the small things like ground floor make a difference for us. Our room was clean and well stocked with kitchen items. You could easily cook meals here and enjoy them. Which for me is an ideal situation and can help save money when traveling. The location is designed for long term stays but is very accommodating to short term as well. The location is very new (opened in 2019). One thing I found a bit odd was that you had to use one of your keys to keep the electric on in the room (lights). Because I was by myself that second key card wasn’t needed so it wasn’t a big deal. But I could see this being a concern if having more than one person and wanting more than one key for entry to the room. Bed was super comfortable, and pillows were as well. Bathroom was super clean, soaps were full, water pressure great and lighting awesome. Fresh towels both hanging up and rolled on the shelfs. So no concern about not having what we needed. Had a great night sleep and felt safe at this location. Well light as well. There is a pool and exercise room for use along with the “grocery” area where you can get pretty much anything you may need for snacks and drinks. I would recommend this location for anyone traveling with their pets or family. It was also easy to find with many different restaurants and both Target and Meijer within a half mile for any needs.…
