We stayed here on Oct. 2 and 3. We chose this hotel because it was almost exactly halfway between East Lansing and Detroit Metro Airport. Hubby and son drove back to EL for the Michigan State University football game the night of October 2. It was a long drive back after the game (because network chose to make the game start late), but the convenience of the location helped. There seemed to be a lot of noise in the hotel during the evening--I stayed in the room instead of going to the game. I could hear doors closing up and down the hall, and occasionally even could hear kids screaming in the pool. This was surprising since we were at the far end of the hotel from the pool. For once, the toilet did not flood or run away. It seemed to work well, though it took the longest time for the water to run from the tank into the bowl and then go down. When it finally did go down, it worked. The beds were comfy, though the metal understructure was exposed and resulted in amazing CLANGS every time we walked up to the foot of the bed. The a/c worked well and was not too loud. The TV worked, but did not have several channels that were listed in the directory. Also the remote seemed not to be the right one for the TV. It had few options on it, and some of those did not work. In general, I'd try this hotel again, if I needed a place to stay for a day or two. Oh, and we were THRILLED that the iHOP next door was open again.

On my last stay there was snow and ice on the entrance ramp. I use a walker and it was difficult for me to park and enter the hotel safely. The bathroom was not properly stocked with toilet paper, and the garbage can was left on the sink counter without a liner. I requested a handicap room, and the shower chair was wobbly. The remote in the bedroom area did not work, fortunately the one in the entry lounge worked and I was able to use that in the bedroom to watch tv. Overall, the room was clean, and the breakfast was great.

Booked this last-minute one afternoon and was able to check-in within an hour. Had an accessible room that was kind of a mini-suite with a separate living room area, microwave & fridge, and a bedroom. Very clean. I did not get a chance to use the pool or hot tub. Breakfast wasn't great but had most of the usual offerings. Close to chain stores and restaurants and a short drive from the cute Brighton "downtown".

We arrived at the hotel around 11pm wearing our face masks. The staff and four people sitting in the lobby were not wearing any type of face covering DESPITE having a sign right where you check in that they were mandatory. We checked in and headed to our room. The room had a strange odor and the floor and linens were damp . We walked around in the room with socks on because if we didn't you would slip on the tiling. The showerhead looked like it was from the 1970's and only worked on one setting. After asking for three days for a new one I took it off and took it to the front desk. They said they did not have a new one and gave us a new room. The new room was better in that the showerhead worked but the floor was even wetter than the other room. It did not smell musty or mildewy, just had that same weird smell. We booked it for nine days but stayed with relatives half of the time just to avoid the wet floor and sticky linens. Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that one of the people in the lobby was holding a newborn baby....

Hello my name is Clayton Maxwell, I would like to talk to you about a major issue I had last week at your hotel.

I arrived last week for a last minute booking for a girls night. We picked this hotel because they had a pool and hot tub listed and it’s hard to find a hot tub last minute. We get there and the pool and hot tub are under construction so we tried to cancel the reservation but they couldn’t refund the money. So we went back outside and after 20 minutes my friend and I decided to stay and went back in. It took 15 minutes for the person infront of us in line to get frustrated and go outside over his own booking issues. We checked in and they asked for my card again for a 20$ retainer and she said tomorrow the money would be put back. The front desk worker explained the best she could but there was a language barrier. But she said it would be given back. She charged me $82.41. Upon checking out I asked about the charge and spoke with a manager and she said it would be put back on my account within 48 hours but if there’s any issues to talk to my bank because she said I should use a credit card next time because the money gets instantly put back and sometimes with debit cards it gives issues. (I would have used a credit card if she explained it to me when I checked in) I talked with my bank twice and they said the hotel didn’t set it up as a retainer that would be put back it was put in as a direct charge. I called the hotel yesterday and got through to another manager and they said that they are fixing it and that the money will be on within 24 hours. Today I called the hotel AGAIN and I had to explain the situation another time and waited on hold. The male I spoke too was very nice and when he didn’t know how to handle it he said he would ask a coworker and put me on hold, I appreciated and respected his honesty. His coworker took me off hold and said a manager was driving in to check up on my complaint to get it resolved so they said they would call me back. I insisted I would rather stay on hold until the manager made it in to talk to me. They reverified my phone number and promised a call back soon. Now it’s midnight (6 hours later) and I never got a call back. A week ago they charged me $82.41 for no reason and I still have not gotten my money back after talking to two managers and potentially getting forgotten by a third. My favorite part of this experience was the multiple times I was on hold was that it was playing a rolling ad for their pool and hot tub (the only reason I booked the room in the beginning and was under construction). Normally not a Karen but I work hard for my money and this is unacceptable. Also on your Facebook page it talks about how the pool and hot tub was closed and that all websites were notified to put it was temporarily closed. But your own website still has it listed as an amenity.

I will be calling back tomorrow and if it’s not resolved I will be coming in to talk to a manager.

I arrived on a Thurs. afternoon about an hour before check in. I had reserved a King "suite." I was told I would have to wait a couple of hours for that room. I asked for any room availability and had to downgrade to a regular King room, but without any cost reduction because I had arranged this through Booking.com. I was given a room on the first floor one room away from a side entrance that was propped open. As a single woman traveler, this was uncomfortable. I entered the room and discovered that the AC unit was set to 76 degrees and wouldn't go any lower. I requested a different room. Because I was in town for a funeral and had various family events, I didn't have a chance to check the TV before dinner. Upon my return, TV didn't work/ message on screen said main antenna/signal needed to be checked. When I reported this by phone to the Front Desk, the gentleman was at an utter loss for how to address the situation or even what to say, let alone to confirm I'd be provided any discount. I asked that he report it and have it dealt with the next day. Before leaving the hotel the next morning, I asked how soon it would be addressed and that person at the Front Desk was unaware of it and there was nothing noted under my reservation. Upon my return to the room in the early afternoon, I asked yet another staff person about the status and he seemed to be the manager or a more senior person. No one had made him aware and the cable company never returned. He at least came to my room to see the message on the TV screen and comped me one evening. He did offer to switch my room, but I was only going to be there another 12 hours. So I didn't have TV at all during a 2 night stay. The AC unit worked so poorly, I had it set at the lowest temperature and had to run the fan on high just to keep the room moderately comfortable. Such bad internet access that I had to leave the hotel and go to a Staples store in order to check in for my flight. When I reported that to the Front Desk, once again, they couldn't explain it. The two staff people showed me they had access on their phones -- and neither offered to get off WiFi in order to see if I could get on. Threadbare, rough towels, not even a box of Kleenex available in the bathroom. But there was a long black hair on the floor, loose tiles, and ancient fixtures in need of an update. I recognize this wasn't a luxury hotel, but at more than $100/night, this should not have been my experience.

To say this hotel is riddled with black mold on ceilings, showers, and in your guest room is an understatement. Management (Liddy) could care less about your concerns. My husband and daughter have terrible allergies and they were coughing and hacking and sneezing. Staff had to check the next room to make sure it wasn't in the same condition. The carpeting must have had a drain under it because it was wet and smelly. At first, we thought it was from not drying off well enough from shower, but it happened again. In the hallway, repair men were fixing a large roundish black mold/water stain. They replaced the tile but the next day it had water stains again. Find another place that will welcome you - and receive towels you don't have to beg to use! Really.

The place looked and smelled great. A full breakfast and clean, crisp sheets had me feeling spoiled. The staff was friendly and followed covid guidelines. I would recommend this place to anyone needing a clean and comfortable stay. A+

This was by far the worst stay ever.
The manager was beyond rude.
The hotel was dirty
The pool was nasty.
Guest party in the halls all hrs of the night.
Birthday party a in the pool area that made it so we could not even enjoy the pool they where way way over the allowed amount in the pool area. The pool water was like gray the hot tube water made you smell like pond.
I am in need of my service dog they wanted to tell me she was not welcome in the hotel at all. But then a lady had a small dog and was letting it run the halls and kids chasing it. The said dog then jumped and nipped at me and my kids. The fact the manger thinks it's ok to brake ADA laws is mind blowing to me but then allows pet dogs to run the hotel free. I did go to corporate but of course nothing has been fallowed up on in weeks.

We were supposed to stay here 2 night for a weekend family event but checked out after one night. Room was dirty, french fries on the floor. Door lock and window lock for one of our rooms did not lock properly. Room smelled terrible. We won’t be staying here again.
