Beds clean and comfortable. Housekeeping infrequent. Bathrooms old and dark, with loud fan. Fire alarm in whole hotel went off at 7:30am on Saturday and the hotel's answer was to turn the entire system off for the rest of the weekend. Clearly never change the batteries and don't care. Also, "clientele" had a fight in the lobby and when we came downstairs, we were greeted by Sheriffs interrogating people in the lobby.
We spent six nights here while visiting family. I always try to stay at Marriott properties, so I chose the Courtyard in Brighton. The facility was fine, but nothing really stood out about it. Our first room was hot and stayed that way even after we lowered the temperature and went out for a few hours, so the helpful staff gave us another room. The new room stayed nice and cool in the hot Michigan summer. There were some other issues. The in-room coffee maker dripped. Coffee in the lobby was not free (except, inexplicably, the first morning) for Silver Elite members. The charging station by one side of the bed didn't function. Neither was a big issue, just mildly annoying. The ice machine on our floor was always out of service, but I understand that it's not always easy to get things fixed quickly in this age of the pandemic. Also, it was the first Marriott property we've stayed in for quite some time that lacked a microwave. The staff was always friendly and willing to help; it followed COVID masking suggestions. The facility's indoor pool was a welcome relief on two occasions. We didn't spend a ton of time in the room, and in general, it served its purpose. It just didn't stand out, hence the overall rating.…
My husband and I have stayed at this hotel frequently. The staff is incredibly nice and very thoughtful of ALL their guests. I have NEVER encountered a problem and if I did it was resolveds IMMEDIATELY. It is so very unfortunate that during such difficult times across our country right now, that some people chose to take out their frustrations on everyone around them. I can assure anyone who may be hesitate after reading SOME of the other reviews that Kevin and his staff are incredibly professional. Stay here and judge for yourselves how great the hotel is.
I’ve stayed here several times to visit doctors in the area for my son. Prior to covid there was nothing special about the place because we just needed a place to sleep before our long drive back. I recommended this place to a friend and now have learned they don’t bother with covid protocols and the employees do not wear masks even though guests have to. I’ve canceled my room here and am using another location. They have deleted my reviews on other platforms, so please be aware.
We’ve stayed at many 3-star hotels throughout the US over the past few weeks (we’re driving cross country) and this one is by far the worst. The room is small, the light in the bathroom is dim and the shower is so dark you can barely see, and when we tried to turn on the room’s heater, there was a horrible burnt smell and the fire alarm turned on!! I have never had a fire alarm go off in a hotel room. Absolutely grim and I would not recommend it or stay here again.
Just recently hosted a 2 day conference at the Detroit Brighton Courtyard by Marriott. They did a FANTASTIC job accommodating our group. The staff was extremely helpful, kind and willing to help in any way they could. Considering the site is under construction, the facilities were clean and respectful of not working around the conference room as to not impact our activities. Bonus - only hotel in Livingston County with a full service bar and right next door to Outback.
Roles into the Courtyard Brighton MIchigan late from Ann Arbor. AA is always busy and overbooked. It was nice to visit an old haunt @CourtyardBrighton and to see that it is nicely updated. Scored a couple of MI IPAs and went to my room to eat my Zingerman’s sandwich after a swim at the AA YMCA. The front desk professionals, both at check-in and this AM were all smiles. Check this hotel out if you need to be near Ann Arbor. Many food choices within 1 mile. I will be back!
Good one night stay at this Marriott. It is a typical Courtyard, what you would expect. Only complaint was the air conditioner rattled every time it kicked on. Other than that, it was great. Has a good location for jumping on and off the highway. Outback Steakhouse and a Cracker Barrel right next door for dining options.
We held a baby shower for my daughter in a banquet room. It was the perfect size for the group we had. The staff was very attentive to our needs of tables, chairs and linen for the tables. The banquet room had a lot of natural lighting due to a wall of windows that lead to a court yard. The staff were very friendly and very comfortable to work with. Loved the location of the Hotel, near I96 so it was easy on/off for our guest. Also shopping in the area just encase we forgot something. My husband and I also have stayed in the rooms many times. It is close to our children's homes, as we live up-north. The rooms are always clean and fresh. I'm sure we will be using this hotel in the future.
I held my baby shower in the hotels banquet room. Easy location for my guests to find, ample parking and very clean rooms. Affordable and convenient. It was the perfect space to celebrate with family and friends! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My favorite part about the banquet room was the wall to wall windows, that looked out to the courtyard. Perfect background for a party and easy access for taking photos in!
