We have just returned from a truly delightful stay at Long Crendon Manor. With three generations of family gathering from around the world for our son's wedding near by we were looking for and found a fantastic historic home with welcoming and accommodating hosts. Tim and Sue went out of there way to make our weekend special. They happily shared...

Stayed here as a bridesmaid for my friends wedding, we had the yellow room with the walk in wardrobe overlooking the farm area. I'd live there if I could! Stunning house, lovely welcome, the bridal suite was luxurious. There are big dogs that live here in case you are allergic or scared but they were kept away. The dining room...

Friendly welcome. Stayed in the Lady de L’Isle’s rooms. Great Breakfast with home produced bacon and sausages. My only negative comment would be that given that several guests have already flagged up cobwebs etc in the bedrooms, no attempt to get rid of them seems to have been made. Dead flies and wasps on the carpet are not pleasant either....

Thank you for your comments - duly noted. Cobwebs are certainly a constant battle in a beamed Medieval house! We source the bathroom toiletries from Pure Lakes which are made in the Lake District from 100% natural ingredients by a family team. The packaging is British and aimed at minimal environmental impact.

I have read a number of reviews since visiting - thankfully I didn't read these before booking. Here's some balance - don't miss this place if you love period properties that are homes too. This 14th century Manor House is quite remarkable, from the court yard and carriage way, to the vaulted dining halls and stunning suite / bed room....

Our party of 10 had a truly wonderful two night stay at this stunning, large, rambling, location for my daughter's wedding locally on 19th November. Rooms are spacious, very warm, quiet and well appointed with very comfortable beds. Nothing was too much trouble including our request for a running buffet breakfast on the morning of the big day and sumptuous...

Many thanks for your review. The whole group were delightful and great to see the Before - bride & bridesmaids staying and all the prep, and the After - hubbub of family & friends chat and laughter over breakfast in the Great Hall with the new Mr & Mrs! Look forward to greeting on the First Anniversary!

On a cold November afternoon after driving 190 miles from the North we entered the courtyard of the ancient Long Crendon Manor. Wow - its absolutely amazing! But out first impressions were spoiled when we were told by a rather flustered gentleman that we were 15 minutes early and asked to take a walk round the village. OK - the...

Thank you for your kind comments and four star rating. It was a pleasure to have you to stay and sorry that you still think about those First Impressions. It's an important one this and you'll remember that at 4:00pm check-in time I flung the door open and came out with a smile to help with your bags, by which...

After reading some adverse comments re hospitality of host I was wary. They were right ..... officious about the door entrance arrangements, abrupt, didn't show me where tea and coffee was . Found it hidden away in cupboard as I was leaving ...... sell by date was 2012 !!!! The tin of Illy had gone off completely along with half...

A good point raised here. When your host welcomes you into their family home you then have a personal relationship with them. They will try their best for your stay to be as great as can be. Forgotten where they said the tea & coffee was? Just ask. Worried it's not fresh? Just ask. Freshly refilled proper coffee jars and...

We travelled as a family of 4 to Long Crendon as we are hoping to relocate there. Sue & Tim were incredibly hospitable from the start to finish of our trip. We stayed for 4 nights, the configuration of the rooms was perfect for a family - inter-leading rooms, big and spacious and as others have said before, very very...

What an amazing find! A truly authentic historical house, where they filmed The Woman in black. The bed was blissfully comfy, the room was huge and the baths enormous and all at a reasonable price. The lady and gentleman who own it are very charming and helpful. We didn't have breakfast as we had family staying nearby so met up...

The family room was 2 bedroom and very spacious, peaceful and comfortable. We were greeted by Tim who was an exceptional host showing us around and explaining the history of the place.
