Just returned from our weekend stay at the House of Ludington as part of our “mini honeymoon”; we loved it! Beautiful, historic hotel, personable service, and amazing food! I booked my stay before reading many reviews; I wanted something unique, cozy like a bed and breakfast, something that would give more of an experience than driving out of town to...

This 150 year old hotel was comfortable and fun. Rooms vary on upgrades but all are clean and roomy. The owners were gracious and gave us great tips on the area. Great walking around the harbor and Marian. We even used city bikes to extend our tours.

We stayed here 3 years ago and had a good time despite the significant shortcomings of this hotel. This time we arrived on one of the days when the hotel is not staffed. ( but it is sort of open anyway. If you have a reservation they leave your key outside.). This arrangement wasn't explained when I made the reservation....

This hotel may not be for everyone. But if you like an historic, old, out of the ordinary accommodation you'll enjoy a stay at this hotel. We discovered that a relatively small number of rooms are currently rented out as hotel rooms. Other rooms have been converted into apartment rentals; however, we didn't see anyone coming and going from these...

I love older, charming, different and quaint places to stay and hoped this was one of them. WRONG - maybe old and different apply. Otherwise is was dirty, with virtually no amenities. Couldn 't wait to get out in the AM. With the exception of check-in, we never saw any staff. Can't speak to the restaurant - no way I...

If you are tired of the same old franchise hotels then this is the place for you. The hotel is historic, unique, clean and has a great view of the water. We didn't eat at the restaurant but did have a drink at the cool bar. The owners are exceptionally fun and friendly. It was a great way to end...

This hotel was old (1864), with updating of the building and some of the rooms still needed. But it had a wonderful view of the lake and was basic, but clean. It's only open for check-in from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., but the staff is friendly. It is an experience I would not want to have missed.

This is a different place and that is what added to it's charm. Yes, it is old and the floors uneven but our room was exceptionally clean and we really enjoyed our stay. We know now to make a reservation well enough in advance or at least arrive when the restaurant is open to find someone at the desk. We...

Several reviewers have said, "it's not for everyone". I'll add my voice to that and also say, "it WAS for me". I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. It was quirky and interesting. There was a marvelous view of Lake Michigan from our window, The antique furnishings were enchanting. The staff was so warm and friendly. Yes, some of the building...

I wasn't sure if I should put this review under hotels or restaurants. I was there for a wedding and it was gorgeous. I loved the setting- the different dining rooms, the bar, also the uneven floors!!! It was like a maze but that was part of the charm. The tables set for the dinner were beautiful and the dinner...
