After a great day of skiing with my adult daughter at Boyne Highlands, we checked in at the lovely Birchwood Inn. It was after dinner . We went to the great room at the main building and watched a beautiful sunset over Little Traverse Bay. Relaxing by TV corner for some hoops and a hot cup of tea. I could...

If you're looking for pet-friendly accommodations this is a good fit. As others have mentioned the Inn itself is outdated yet clean. We had great help from the ladies working the evening shifts. Don't forget to bring a hair dryer as those are not supplied.

I have stayed in Petoskey and Harbor Springs area many times to ski Boyne and Nubs but had never heard of Birchwood Inn. My last visit a friend recommended this quaint hotel. It is not a modern hotel, but that is the charm of Birchwood Inn. The room/ bed was very comfortable and the continental breakfast in the lodge was...

I came here in mid-Oct 2016 after a drive of the tunnel of trees hoping for the best. The lobby is quaint and receptionist was very nice. When we got to our room it slowly hit me... theres a fine line between kitschy mcm-style outdatedness and simple lack of upkeep. The room was spatious and covered with 1950's-looking light wood...

This inn and lodge has a location to die for, serene surroundings, and views from its hilltop over Lake Michigan that inspire exploration. The classic woodsy sporting decor (think snowshoes, canoes, antler mounts, bikes, skis, etc., against a background of earthtones, plaids and abstract forest murals) is uncomplicated and welcoming. The sprawling backyard will call you outside, summer or winter,...

Three nights we stayed here and enjoyed the serenity, the views and the hospitality. The continental breakfast with coffee, juice, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and a variety of pastries, bagels and toast was a good start to our day before we went skiing. We had a large room with 2 queen sized beds and a large door wall that looked...

We stayed at the Birchwood Inn the weekend of Oct 14th. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable. Best part was that our stay was very quite though it appeared that all rooms were full. Unlike at a big chain hotel where you can hear a lot of people noises in the hallway. I enjoyed our little balcony for our...

Location is beautiful. Loved the vintage feel of the motel. Great room was welcoming. Beds and TV need to be replaced but very clean. Nice breakfast in the morning. Appreciated the "real eggs" in the shell and that bread is YUMMY. Super nice staff.

Older rooms, not worth the price. No mini fridge, coffee maker, etc just a bed and tv. Lovely teal bath tub. Very basic continental breakfast. House keeping did clean room while we were out which was surprising.

We came to see the tunnel of trees which was very nice. The inn is in need of repair. The staff was friendly and we were given numerous coupons for restaurants in the area. I don't think we will go there again.
