Though the decor maybe could use a refresh the entire place was clean and all ice and vending machines clean and working. The breakfast buffer was delicious and kept freshly stocked with a wide variety of choices. The Staff were all exceptionally warm and pleasant as well as competent. The bed and bathroom linens were fresh and clean. The frige and microwave were great! The available computer and printer in the breakfast room were very handy! The mattress was a bit lumpy but not all that bad and the carpet in the room had more than a few stains but none of it was bothersome.

Stayed one night. Your typical average chain hotel along a limited access highway between major metropolitan areas. It is not the ritz it is more of a saltine. Bed was uncomfortable. Lots of pillows all the same feel in firmness.

Pros - Conveniently located off the interstate Next to a large mall Near an awesome antique store Room was large Bed was comfy Cons- Carpet worn and stained Mold in bathroom View out window was roof of Entrance Elevator slow Room key issues Make sure you wear slippers because floors are stained as is furniture. Everything had a dull worn look to it. Would not stay again.

We stayed at this place because we needed a place to sleep. I wish we stayed at another property. The signage says Satisfaction Guaranteed but when I talked with the desk clerk I got nothing but excuses. I tried to complain to IHG and that did not work either. Just stay away.

As I write this review on about four hours of sleep, I can attest without hyperbole that this is the worst Holiday Inn I have ever patronized in my life. I am a research scientist who travels often for work, and I have never experienced something quite like this before. When we checked in, we were given a filty room that had not been cleaned. The carpets were filthy, there was a used hand towel in the bathroom, and the toilet was splattered with feces. I went down to the front desk, and the person working (Katie) refused to take my word for it, and told me I had to show the room to her. Bringing her back there, upon entering, she looks directly in the bathroom, at the feces covered toilet, and said there was nothing wrong with the room. She then said that the half empty bottle of lotion was "probably from house keeping attempting to refill the bottle"! Why, during COVID would they be reusing lotion bottles?! I then asked for toiletries, since there was no hand soap or (unused) lotion. Katie then pointed at the shower, with the shampoo and body wash, and in a very sharp and rude manner, said "those are your toiletries". She also told me that there were no rooms available to transfer to, that our room was just fine, and she would do nothing for us. We had a long drive, and decided we needed to rest, and went on with our stay. Once we were lying down, we saw bugs crawling on the bed, so I went back down to the front desk. This time there was someone less incompetent than Katie and more willing to help. Suddenly there were plenty of rooms to transfer to, and she put us in a room upstairs. Walking up the stairs to the new room, we see food scraps and half eaten candy decorating the stairs. Upon entering the room, it was clear that it was cleaner, but not cleaned. There was a filthy wash rag hanging on the shower rack, mountain dew cans in the refrigerator, and no trash bags in the receptacles. We sighed and decided to get some rest. At 12:30 AM our room starts pounding due to the rave going on next door. I once again have to go to the front desk and ask them to get the room to be quiet. Another 15 minutes pass and nothing, so we decided to go sleep in our car. We caught the front desk receptionist who was probably the nicest person I dealt with, but even so, she was unable to get her guests under control, and offered me now a third room. So at 1 AM we had to move again. This room was a bit cleaner, but there was still a used toothpick behind the bedside table. We finally fell asleep around 3 AM and were awoken in the morning by housekeeping trying to enter. There was no knock, no announcement, just someone trying to enter the room. I should note that their housekeeping staff do not wear uniforms, and this person didn't even identify themselves, so we had no idea who was trying to break in. I called down to front desk, and Katie once again answers. This time, she blamed me for the event, since she was not notified that my room had changed. I tried to speak with the manager, but all that exists is voicemail and no one to speak to. I paid for two nights in advance and am leaving after one. Avoid this place.…

The facility was clean, pool and work out rooms were adequate. Was not sure who were staff because they blended in with the guests. Ladies at the front desk were helpful and check was quick. I spoke with a staff member on Saturday morning and she began to complain she may have to work 16 hrs today, call ins and short staff. This location is next to the highway, so road noise was high. The hotel room doors slammed closed, so very noisy for late night arrivals. The decor is aged and carpet is stained. Our chair cushion was shredded and the blow-dryer did not operate. Bathroom tubs are in need of an upgrade and our shower rod was bent in the middle, so the curtain did not stay put. The toilets flushed with force, that is a good thing but felt like it was about to burst under the floor. The breakfast and coffee were hot, good selection.…

We took our granddaughter and stayed in the motel for two nights for a graduation party. The room was spacious and clean. The only problem we had is when we returned from the party our room hadn't been cleaned, I called down to desk and was told you have to ask for the room to be cleaned. So we had to get fresh towels for the next morning.

We stayed here for 5 days the week of Thanksgiving. The staff was very professional and helpful. The common areas and the pool area were very clean. We arrived pretty late but I disinfected the room anyway (even before COVID, I’d always travel with disinfecting wipes). When I wiped down the bathroom counter, I collected a bunch of black hairs that looked like facial hair clippings - gross! That didn’t give me confidence that the room had been appropriately sanitized! There were also about a dozen hairs on the bathroom floor. Since it was late at night I knew there wasn’t housekeeping staff on duty so I finished cleaning the bathroom myself. The rest of the room was clean. We also discovered as soon as we went to bed that our bed caved in towards the middle! VERY uncomfortable. Again, we’d have mentioned it to the front desk and asked to change rooms if it wasn’t late and night and we’d already unloaded a truck full of 4 people’s luggage into the room. (This is room 103, the bed nearest the window.) I looked under the bed and noticed that it sagged just an inch above the ground! That’s a seriously bad and uncomfortable mattress :( The hotel is right next to the highway so the highway noise is constant. Once I put my earplugs in, I slept like a baby. But if you’re sensitive to night noise, like me, you will definitely want earplugs. The remote to the TV only worked about 1 out of every 8 times. Fortunately we don’t watch much TV, so we didn’t ask for a new remote. Overall this hotel is WAY better than the Wyndham we stayed at last year, which is a few miles down the road. We would stay here again, but not in room 103 unless they replace that bed!…

My wife and I stayed in the whirl pool suite on the 4th of July ... when we filled the tub for a bath , turned on the jets and black junk came out of the jets...not good for setting the mood ... told them about it in the morning ... hotel clerk asked why I didn't report it at the time ... told her I wasn't dressed for it ... she informed me they may take someyhing off the bill .... really I paid extra for the whirl pool I was affraid to use... not likely to ever go back there again

I need to say up front that I did not stay here but I need to write this review. My daughter was home from college, traveling from the Detroit area to see some friends at MSU on MLK day. She took the car that my son uses when she is at college. My son had his baseball bags in the back, though he knew that she was taking the car, and he has a “showcase” with the new varsity baseball coach today. My daughter called after about an hour into her drive asking if her brother had gotten his stuff from the back. Of course not. She pulled off of I-96 and stopped at this Holiday Inn Express. She explained the situation and asked if f she could leave the bags there so I could pick them up. She also offered for me to pay when I get there. The host( I didn’t get his name) said sure and would not take any money. With this being said, I obviously did not stay and can’t comment on the rooms. I can say that the lobby was clean and they had fresh cookies waiting for people checking in. The same host was there and was incredibly nice when I arrived.
