I stayed her for one night for a soccer tournament and the charge appeared 2 days later as usual. My ex husband stayed the second night of the tournament. He had issues with his reservation and was charged for a missed night (which was untrue) he showed them his reservation, they found their error and refunded him. One month later I get a random charge for a night’s stay at this hotel! No notification at all…just bam! So I call and the lady proceeds to get loud, mouthy and tells me that I was not charged initially for my stay. I tell her I have it on my phone right now and I am looking at both charges! She repeatedly tells me I was never charged. I honestly laughed because I could not believe she was trying to tell me I was wrong while I was looking at it!!! In the end my bank card is now frozen because I thought it was a fraudulent purchase…apparantly any hotel can just go back and look up your card number and charge whenever they want to, and I have to email an official print out of my bank account. How do you not have any record?? No email or phone number to contact me??? Do not stay here. The hotel is not clean, on the bottom floor our window would not lock, the room was damp. Spend your money elsewhere!…
Set off in a quiet location. Clean and modern. Easy check in and check out. Very pricey for the night which was to be expected since the college had an event going on. The floors were very thin but overall great stay.
Holes in the sheets, holes in the towels. The bottle of body wash in the shower was completely empty. Hair on the sheets. Dirty bed skirt. Cobwebs in the room. The shower for rinsing off by the pool came out like a drizzle. One disappointment after another. Nothing huge, but for the price of a room for one night, definitely subpar.
Like others we found shampoo empty and thin walls (next to highway) and gap in hall door. Planned to have advertised breakfast we checked on at hotel. Waited 5 minutes at breakfast counter reading 7 small signs of breakfast options, then told only rolls, sausage and yogurt, no eggs. Then take down signs! Expressed disappointment to clerk at front desk. No apology, only excuses. Then interrupted by another employee whispering to clerk. Pointed out she was interrupting customer. Told it was manager, I was "combative" and could leave. I asked if I was being thrown out. Told again I could leave and refused to give me her name. With her manager silently standing there! Corporate issued case number, but "leaving it up to location" to make it right.
this property was clean and comfortable. It is a little hard to find. GPS wouldn't take address. There is also another Holiday Inn across the parking lot. Would recommend this hotel and would stay here again if in the area. Was disappointed in breakfast. They made an effort to offer some hot items.but fell short of other holiday inns we stayed in since covid.
I went to Kalamazoo on a business trip this week and chose to stay at this hotel. First the good things: —Relatively new hotel —Comfortable bed —Cool chaise lounges in the room Now the bad: —Sink did not drain —Shampoo dispenser was empty —There was supposed to be a grab and go breakfast in the morning but there were none out —Parking lot was not plowed well and they had half blocked off so you had to walk a ways in the snow So basically—nice physical plant but not well maintained. There are lots of hotels in Kalamazoo—I will try a different one next time.
Pros: Friendly desk staff, comfortable bed, good pressure in the shower, love the shampoo/conditioner dispensers, microwave/fridge was nice to have, lots of food and delivery options nearby, close to 131 and 94 Cons: Gap in door frame is weird and lets in a lot of light and noise. The walls and floors are SUPER thin, worse than most apartment complexes I've lived in. I could hear people stomping around all night, and I could hear all of my neighbors talking. I'm not sensitive to highway noise, but this is close to a freeway, and the windows aren't very thick. You will hear the highway all night (if you're sensitive to that).
Great stay in a clean, newer hotel with good amenities. A little down the road from St. Joe but not too far. Nice pool area. Good breakfast choices and great coffee. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Convenient to restaurants, gas, stores and interstate. Would recommend.
There’s no doubt this hotel is new and beautifully decorated. I stopped short of giving it 5 stars because housekeeping fell short of my expectations! Imagine getting in the shower, getting your long hair all soaped up with shampoo only to realize the conditioner and body wash dispensers were empty. Quite annoying especially when you have hair that needs a lot of conditioner. So lesson learned - check before getting in the shower or pack your own because this holiday inn may not have you covered! When I mentioned this to the guy at the front desk upon checking out he was very unsympathetic. Also worth noting that you’ll need some muscle to get your room door open - I consider myself to be reasonably fit and able bodied but I struggled. Can’t imagine what it would be like for anyone physically challenged. …
Will NEVER, EVER recommend this Holiday Inn Express to anyone! Booked almost two months prior to checking in for a soccer tournament. Arrived at the location, was told to come back in 20 minutes because rooms were being inspected still, at 2:48pm, so they did not have the 2 bed, pull out sofa suite I had reserved. Sat in my car until 3pm, went back in, Travis, the manager told me that they did not have any double suites and all they could offer me was a king with a pullout. Even after I told him that it would not accommodate my family, he offered me nothing else. No adjoining rooms, nothing. He told me that because I had booked through someone else, and not directly with the hotel, he couldn't do anything to help me. TERRIBLE customer service! He should not be in hospitality! He never offered to call around and put me up somewhere else. He just told me to look around the area for other hotels. This was impossible as it was the day of arrival and all hotels in the area had been booked for weeks with the impending soccer tournament. It took us two hours to find another hotel, out of our way, and in the opposite direction...no thanks to Travis! We had to sit in our hot car, with seven kids all hungry and tired, and try to find a hotel. The only help we received was from Traveling Teams, the booking company. They helped us get the room and got the rate comped to what we would have originally paid at our original reservation. They will be contacting a different manager with IHG, and trying to rectify the matter, as Travis was just as discourteous and unhelpful to them as he was to me. I honestly hope that no one else to experience this nightmare that we just went through.…
