Can't complain at all, after seeing some quite negative reviews.. this is our second stay within a few months due to visiting family in Coventry. Room very clean, linen and towels spot on.. nothing bad to say. Great value for money 😊 I cannot comment on the meals as we ate out but restaurant looked lovely.

Rooms are NOT as shown in the photos. Photographed are rooms which are half modern and of good standards. We received a very dated and EXTREMELY VILE room! Had we not arrived so late at night, tired, with a 8 month old baby I would have moved! I had prebooked a cot, and even with prior warning and a late arrival we found there was no cot in the room. The wallpaper was ripped in various areas and stained, there was large damp marks on walls/wallpaper. The towels were dirty (brown stains!), broken tiles in the bathroom and black mould along the edges of the bath. The kettle which I was reliant on making baby milk had some sort of brown disgusting smelly dirt in it and was stained. Thankfully had ready made bottled milk I used instead!) I couldn’t even let my baby down to crawl about as the carpet was so stained and dirty. I held her on the bed for the duration of the stay! £100 down the drain! I’d rather have slept in the car! Do not stay here!

What a find. Tucked away and great food and very reasonably priced. On a quiet day the sort of class place you could sit with a laptop and coffee. Grounds lovely on a summers day. Really great place for a large reception.Staff great

A lovely hotel, a warm welcome, friendly staff. Comfortable room, would have been 5 /5 but the building has a lot of wear and tear. Delicious breakfast, with plenty of choice. We were able to ask for fresh milk for the room. Although the hotel was busy it was quiet. (Room 22)

Stayed here to attend Killers concert. £140 Photos on booking.com are misleading. The place is grotty and absolutely not worth the money. Complained on arrival about how the state of the grounds, very dated room etc - and was told that a manager would deal with me in the morning They insisted the next day they could not personally reduce my bill but gave my husband a complimentary breakfast. I left a message on checkout for the owner to contact me. He didn’t / I called again leaving a message a couple of weeks later. No response to date. I’ll chase again as on principle there is no way they should be charging that amount for such a dirty, tired hotel Filthy tub of cooking oil by bins, cigarette butts and rubbish by front door, rotting window frames - filthy signage and unkempt grounds Literally a waste of money and zero after care customer service

Which of the previous reviews can guide you? Some people seem to have enjoyed their stay, but sadly, like me, it was a very disappointing experience. Grounds are tatty, uncared for, and in need of tidying, sweeping and clearing dumped boxes and furniture My room was on the ground floor and clearly not recently updated or decorated. Wallpaper was peeling and scuffed, armchair stained, and the amenities in the room were more or less as described but a glass would have been useful rather than having to use a teacup in the bathroom. The room was very hot, with heavy bedding, and a window that was restricted from opening wide by a security wire, making for a sweltering night. Breakfast was good, but on the day of our arrival one of our party had to send a coffee back as sour milk had been used The rooms on the photos on the official website bear no resemblance to the room I stayed in, so be careful if booking Another of our party in an upper floor refurbished room had a broken mattress

Stayed here before and again what a pleasant stay. They staff are sharp and friendly. The room was great with the bath in the middle of the room. The Mrs thought it was great and know has ideas to keep me busy at home when it comes to interior design of our loft space. You gotta love them

Absolutely horrendous quality of the room. What the owner advertising on the trip advisor is nothing like it when you arrive. Disgusting kettle, dirty carpets, moled bathroom, Broken bathroom tiles, old ripped wallpaper, wholes near window and many more attractions. How this disgusting / broken place got advertised on the trip advisor i have no clue but I do suggest to review / see the "hotels" conditions yourself before recommendation on the website. (Most of the fantastic reviews are for pub / food below not hotel condition) The owner should be ashamed- trully ashamed to charge any money for such a quality of the rooms. Nothing more to add just see pictures.

Having eaten here loads of times and recommending it to friends saying they fish and chips are amazing …. Tonight the food was appalling … 3 of us had twice fried chips that were very dark brown and limp , the fish was just mush inside and the brioche buns had been toasted to within an inch of their lives …. We did complain but the poor waitress didn’t know what to say although she did offer free desserts …. Another waiter was asked for the bill … 20 mins later we had to ask again and he was unapologetic….. very disappointed and won’t eat here again
