The Ludington Pier House is two blocks from a wonderful beach, and beautiful sunsets over Lake Michigan. It is a quiet hotel located within walking distance of good restaurants and ice cream. and it's in close proximity to three lighthouses (North Breakwater, Big Sable, and Little Sable). Staff was friendly, courteous, and welcoming. You will enjoy your stay here!

The motel + price + location was awesome! Stay here and the parking for the hotel doubles as parking for the beach as you are one block away from the beach (the south entrance to Sterns Park and Beach). The room we had was clean and comfortable. The indoor pool was nice and heated without being too hot. The jacuzzi was nice too. Friendly staff. Would easily stay there again.

We stayed at the Pier House for two nights for a little getaway from being trapped in the house due to Covid. Very Clean rooms, pool is absolutely wonderful, Clean, fully stocked with towels, hot tub, furniture spaced apart to follow guidelines for social distancing. All staff wore masks, housekeepers included. Very quiet, peaceful place. Windows in rooms open to let fresh air in. Water pressure was crazy good, had no problem getting hot water first thing in the morning like another guest had complained about. They have a small coffee pot, microwave and small refrigerator in the rooms. Most everything is within walking distance. Town is only maybe three or four blocks away, put-put is on the corner from motel, and pier and beach were a two minute walk away. Won’t get a better location!! Nothing fancy about this place, but who needs that when you won’t be in your room much anyhow with all the local attractions! Will definitely be back!

We stayed at this hotel on two different nights. The first night we had a room in the motel on the first floor. The room was large but dated. The bathroom was unnecessarily small. It should have used more of the space available rather than allocating too much space to sink/counter. The toilet was one of the lowest I have ever encountered which was exceptionally difficult to use as I have had knee surgery. When I asked at the office if there were any rooms with a more accessible bathroom for our next stay in a few days, the person was unconcerned and almost rude. On our return our room was in the annex. There is no parking for the annex, We did find a place on the street but that meant carrying luggage a longer distance than necessary. The stairway to the second floor at the door was so steep and the steps were so short in depth that when combined with the carpet on them I was afraid to try to climb them. Eventually I found the front stairway (no signage) which was only slightly better and inadequately lighted. The hand rail stopped before you reached the second floor. No breakfast is included although there was a coffee maker in the room. The blind on the recessed floor level windows were almost impossible to reach to close even though they faced the main street. The swimming pool was closed. Although this was once a good spot in Ludington, it has gone downhill and needs updating including those related to guest safety.

Nice location. Walking distance the beach , downtown. Property is clean and well maintained .Indoor heated pool is big plus in case of bad weather. Staff is nice and friendly. We stayed in room 209 , needs update. Room was clean and stocked with toiletries Only problem we had is strong mold odor coming from carpet behind beds. and night stands . Did not notice anything until we laid down on beds. This is big issue if you have respiratory problems like my mom has it. I hope this is isolated problem and would definitely recommend this hotel if I did not had this issue

Not sure how this place gets 4 &1/2 rating. The location is excellent. That's the best thing I can say about it. The person on the phone stated the pool was being maintained, and no continental breakfast. It is semi clean, run down, dead bugs, poor cleaning of the room, and there was a strong chemical smell outside the room just off the pool that appears to have been under repairs for a very long time. I can't recommend the place. There are many other choices but I took the Trip Advisor's rating as believable. Do not stay and let this place snare more unsuspecting consumers until they clean up their business.

Not acommidating for early check in. Called to check if we were checking in. Told them we would not be there till midnight do to being at a wedding. The gentslmen never said we would have to check in at their neighboring building. We got in the room thankfully they had windows open but the room smelled of stale cigarettes. We were exhausted so we went to bed. Beds were nice room was ok. Not $200 a night nice. In the morning we were getting ready to leave noticed the tub was Dirty :( then as my husband checked around the beds to make sure we left nothing behind and found a black old sausage piece and crumbs by it on the floor. So we brought this info up to the front desk no appology or even giving a discount or free night for proving a dirty room. He did take a photo of my photo of the black sausage. It is really sad. It is on a great location but i will never recommend to anyone!

We visit Ludington several times a year and have stayed at most of the hotels in the area. We decided to try the Ludington Pier House because of the indoor pool. At checkout we learned that the pool had been closed for some time -which is not posted anywhere online.
The rooms were outdated but clean, and overall the hotel was quiet. The location is great and close to the beach and shops/restaurants.
The hotel is on par with most in the area.

We (two couples) stayed in the back part, which was quiet. Clean room, good shower, good location. And that's where the good ends. Rude clerk at the front desk, hard to understand. Their website said to tell them if you were an AARP member, and you would get a $5 discount. Not such a big deal, but if advertised, we expected to get it. He said he had already processed our cards, but would talk to his supervisor, and we would receive it. Have heard nothing! Tried to get a pop from the vending machine, but with no success. He pointed to the sign "Pool closed for repair," and said no drinks. What? We finally found a handyman who explained that sometimes the pop machine malfunctioned because of weather. He was very nice. Will not go back. This place had been recommended, but I will tell those who recommended it that it was a disappointment,

We don't offer breakfast here on the property. We do however give you a bogo free breakfast coupon for every 2 people for House of Flavors Restaurant instead.
Thank you for clarifying! These are very helpful suggestions and I will pass them along to the owners so we can make some changes to make things a little more convenient! Based on your description, I am guessing you stayed in room 217?
We do not provide breakfast at our motel, however, we do provide a buy one get one free breakfast coupon to the House of Flavors restaurant at check-in.
Hi Linda,
We do have second floor rooms with a balcony, and you can see the Badger go by when sitting outside, though the view is somewhat obstructed by trees in the summer. We are just a short walk from the marina where you can see the Badger go by and be extremely close when it docks.
