Let me start out by saying we have stayed at many B&Bs, so I may be a little bias with my rating.I was traveling with my wife, sister and elderly mother. Room: We had what they called a family suite. Two rooms with a shared common bath for the family. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable....

This is a very good place for your first experience on the island. It is within walking distance of everything downtown. The host is very knowledgeable and breakfast is fresh and tasty if not overly creative. Take a bottle of wine and go sit on the front porch and enjoy the people watching. Rooms are dated (1830). I must tell...

We spend 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. We stayed in the Lafatte Davis room and it was very nice. The breakfast was also wonderful with fresh pastries, egg sausage casserole sitting a a large antique table with stylish place setting in real China. Nick the owner was so friendly and funny and was a wonderful host!

We just stayed at Haan's 1830 Inn and had a wonderful time. The owners and staff are so friendly and helpful. The decor is so charming and they have three patios to enjoy the Mackinac Island views. Also, they have an adorable dog named Scout - Scout is a great dog and will let you pet her if you're a...

We fell in love with this bed and breakfast! Nick was incredibly helpful before we went, as well as when we were there! This was our first time staying on the island overnight and we are not regretting it at all!! The breakfast was absolutely amazing!

This is our families 2nd visit to the island lucky to find this place. Nick, the proprietor, was extremely friendly and helpful in navigating things to do. The breakfast was excellent, and our accommodations included a suite with a second bedroom. Can't say enough great things about this B &B!!

Our favorite part about Haan's is the quiet location east of downtown. They have a wonderful screened in porch that gives you a view of the harbor, pedestrians, horses and cyclists. Some of the rooms favor double beds and their old world charm over comfort. It would help a lot to upgrade to queens and new mattresses. The breakfast is...

We celebrated our wedding anniversary by spending a night in the William Ferry room at Haan's 1830 Inn. Located right next door to St. Anne's Church, the inn was an easy bike ride from the ferry landing -- we purposefully packed our overnight items in backpacks to simplify transport. Larry, the innkeeper, greeted us at the door upon our arrival...

I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Period antique furniture in the rooms, the clip-clop of horse hooves on the street will take you back to a simpler time and place. You are close enough to the water to hear the drone of a freighter's engines going through the channel. Last but not least the breakfast are made from scratch. Looking forward...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Haan's 1830 Inn is your Mackinac Island bed and breakfast home. The stately Greek Revival house--built on the foundations of an American Revolution era trader cabin--served as the private residence of Colonel Preston, a Fort Mackinac officer and first mayor of the island. The Inn has been completely restored and now operates as a Mackinac Island B&B to share the grace of history, the warmth of family, and the wonders of Mackinac Island weather. The guestrooms are freshly decorated and furnished with period antiques and quality mattresses. Your host, Nick Haan, invites you to be at home, relax on the wicker-furnished porches, and listen to the cadence of horses as carriage tours pass by on Huron Street. ... more   less
