Staying on the Island is a treat unto it's own, everyone should do it. Staying in a lovely bed and breakfast is icing on the cake. Haan's was an easy walk off the main drag and a good start on your way around the Island. We reserved the two suites and the rooms were nice, but could use a declutter...

We stayed here for two nights and hope to return next summer. The breakfasts were FANTASTIC: hot egg dishes, homemade breads & coffee cakes, and homemade cherry maple butter to (almost) die for. Coffee & tea self-service in the front room of the main house throughout the day was much appreciated. The John Jacob Astor room was quiet & comfortable...

We were a group of eight well-travelled people on a four night get-away to the island. The 1830 house was just right for our needs. The rooms were comfortable and roomy, and the porches were rocking-chair friendly. If you want modern hotel conveniences such as bars, restaurants, and TV, search elsewhere. If you want quiet privacy, with an excellent breakfast...

This lovely B & B, just a short walk or bicycle ride from the Island's docks and bustling downtown, offers a quiet and relaxing respite. Larry & Ruth are the gracious and delightful hosts ready to answer any question one might have of the island's history or to provide helpful dining suggestions. Each morning, a beautifully presented breakfast awaits you,...

It is a nice B & B, but a bit of a walk from the downtown area since it is closer to Mission Point. Our room was quiet and the breakfast was very good. We missed having a TV in our room, but there is a front porch where you can sit and watch people go by.

I've stayed here a few times and have always had a great experience. The prices are reasonable and the rooms beautifully reflect the era in which the inn was originally built. The innkeepers are extremely helpful and prepare amazing breakfasts for their guests! The long dining room table allows for lively and interesting breakfast conversations with the other guests. The...

We had a terrific experience at the 1830 inn. The Innkeepers are fantastic and so accommodating. We spent two days here with our three daughters and it was a great place with kids. It is located outside the main part of town but a quiet bike ride to town. While it is not luxurious, it is very clean and comfortable....

This place is run by friendly, helpful people. We managed to get in on a night where there was a cancellation, and I'm so glad we did. Nice room, good breakfast - we couldn't be happier with the value this place provided.

Haan's 1830 Inn is a very nice B&B with great rates for Mackinac Island. It's probably at least a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry docks which wasn't a problem for us. The hosts are very gracious and allow you to drop off your bags when arriving in the morning. They advertise a "deluxe continental breakfast" and they aren't kidding....

We were lucky enough to stay here on a Saturday night in August. Haan's is located on the main street, but down past the Catholic church, so it is away from hubbub of downtown, but an easy walk into the main part of town. Our room was comfortable and clean - the bed was so soft. They do have good...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Haan's 1830 Inn is your Mackinac Island bed and breakfast home. The stately Greek Revival house--built on the foundations of an American Revolution era trader cabin--served as the private residence of Colonel Preston, a Fort Mackinac officer and first mayor of the island. The Inn has been completely restored and now operates as a Mackinac Island B&B to share the grace of history, the warmth of family, and the wonders of Mackinac Island weather. The guestrooms are freshly decorated and furnished with period antiques and quality mattresses. Your host, Nick Haan, invites you to be at home, relax on the wicker-furnished porches, and listen to the cadence of horses as carriage tours pass by on Huron Street. ... more   less
