Haan’s 1830 Inn, Mackinac Island Lovely Victorian era home full of character, lovingly cared for by its owner and staff. We stayed in the Ferry and Marquette rooms. Both rooms were clean, comfortable and well furnished. Free wifi was available, and worked well. Breakfast offered a selection of delicious homemade baked goods, fruit, juice and coffee. The owner was attentive...

We just returned from our stay at the Haans 1830 Inn. The hosts were by far the friendliest ones we have met at a B and B... It was very clean and the breakfast was always good served in a beautiful dining room. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay on the island.

My family and I have stayed here at least 5 times in the past 8 years. Nick the owner and host is the best. They are very accommodating in helping meet some dietary needs for breakfast.the cookies in the afternoon were great. We were in the Cass suite and it was perfect .not too close to town.

The hosts were friendly, and the room was clean and full of character. The mattress and the pillows left us with some aches, unfortunately. For us breakfast is important and we also did not really enjoy it. From experience with other B&Bs, we expected more (and perhaps healthier) food choices, like fresh fruit versus canned, and also some hot food...

This little place was wonderful. We booked the rev. Ferry room and Pere Marquette for our family of 5. It had a shared bathroom which worked out fine, as it was large. It was really great since we had the whole floor to ourselves (only these two rooms and bathrooms in this part of the house). It was $205 for...

I enjoyed my Memorial Day weekend here with a friend and we had a wonderful stay! We stayed in the Constance Woolson room and it was reasonably priced for a B&B on the island with a private bathroom. You could hear your room neighbors a little bit, but remember how old these houses are, so you can't expect a sound...

I stayed at this B and B once alone and once with my wife in a 4 month span. Each stay was one night. One night's stay I had a shared bath, the other our own bath. Both nights were pretty peaceful and quiet, which I/we like. Both rooms were comfortable, charming and spacious. The screened-in porch with rocking chairs...

We have stayed at Mackinaw Island many times, prior to children. This was our new favorite. Having the two rooms upstairs as a suite was perfect. Great location, hosts were great. Good breakfast. Having teenager boys that love to hike and bicycle the island is a favorite. They want to return. We liked the no TV, and WIFI. We could...

We have two small children, and they have always been welcoming and accomodating to young families. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Haan's 1830 Inn is your Mackinac Island bed and breakfast home. The stately Greek Revival house--built on the foundations of an American Revolution era trader cabin--served as the private residence of Colonel Preston, a Fort Mackinac officer and first mayor of the island. The Inn has been completely restored and now operates as a Mackinac Island B&B to share the grace of history, the warmth of family, and the wonders of Mackinac Island weather. The guestrooms are freshly decorated and furnished with period antiques and quality mattresses. Your host, Nick Haan, invites you to be at home, relax on the wicker-furnished porches, and listen to the cadence of horses as carriage tours pass by on Huron Street. ... more   less
