We have been staying at the Inn every year for the past 10 years and I guess that says it all! We love the Inn, it's location, the wonderful porch, fantastic breakfasts, lemonade and cheese/crackers in the afternoon, chocolate chip cookies in the evening, great service, impeccable accommodations, and decorated in the grand Victorian style. It's the best place to...

Wonderful place to stay . Only stayed one night, will stay longer next time . Great breakfast . Very helpful staff. Beds are comfortable ,we had a very good night's sleep. Porch is also nice, a place to meet other guests. They also have lemonade, cheese and crackers in the afternoon. Cookies in our room were a nice surprise.

It's a delightful place decorated in a style that fits with the century-ago flavor of the island. Rooms are beautiful with antique furniture and no in-room phone or wi-fi. (They do have TVs though but out of sight behind the doors of an antique cabinet.) It's close to the center of town but out of the hustle and bustle. The...

Four golfing buddies stayed at the Inn on Mackinac to play in the National Hickory Stick Invitational at Wawashkamo Golf Club. Great location close to town. Can walk to everything. Rooms were very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Will stay there again on our next trip to Mackinac Island.

The Inn on Mackinac is our place to stay when we visit the island. This is our third time staying there and again, completely satisfied. The Inn is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the absolute downtown area yet close enough that everything is within walking distance. The staff, from the porters at the ferry to...

I would suggest the Inn on Mackinac for your accommodations. If you are coordinating several families this is a great place to be located. Do you have kids in your group? The Inn is located close to downtown very walkable distance but not right downtown. There is a large waterfall spa that is incredible to relax in after a great...

We've been going to the Island for 21 years now and have brought our children along since they were born. We've stayed at this hotel MANY times and I would recommend it to anyone!! The perks are the 2nd floor porch that overlooks the street, the complimentary breakfast, the outdoor spa pool, complimentary afternoon snack, etc.... We will continue to...

While just my husband and I were vacationing at the Inn, my husband experienced chest pains. The staff was great and immediately called the owner (PJ). He was there to meet us and the ambulance (a motorized vehicle) which took us to the med center on the island. Fortunately, the pains turned out to be non serious and we were...

With so many interesting lodging options on Mackinac Island it might seem odd that time and again we return to the Inn on Mackinac. Stay here once and you'll see why we make the Inn our Island home. The Inn is always clean. The staff friendly and helpful. The home made fudge delicious. The hot tub/pool and big front porch...

Excellent Stay- Everything was wonderful and the staff was so helpful. We stopped on the the island for our annual visit and was so delighted with the our choice of stay this year. Request the top floor so that you overlook the lake. Plenty of bike parking but don't forget your lock for night time even if you rented from...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The year was 1867, an era of horse-drawn carriages and ladies in bustles. Blacksmiths were crafting horse shoes in glowing forges. During this height of Victorian culture, the Inn on Mackinac was built. Known then as Chateau Beaumont in memory of the famous Army surgeon at Fort Mackinac, the Inn on Mackinac has retained its quaint, old fashioned charm. The Inn’s facilities have been updated to meet the needs of the modern traveler while preserving its colorful history. Today, completely remodeled and redecorated, this beautiful Victorian Inn opens its doors, where the very special charm of our family-run Inn awaits you. ... more   less
