This was a brand new hotel that was still suffering from minor teething problems i.e. two of the lifts weren't working but as it was quiet it didn't detract from our stay. It has a lovely swimming pool with an indoor outdoor hot tub which we were able to make use of. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. I needed to do some laundry and they provided all the essentials i.e. quarters and showed me where to get detergent etc. The weather was really good so we were able to sit outside round the fire pit which was a nice touch. We bought a bottle of wine at reception and they provided us with disposable cups. There is a restaurant in the hotel, it has a small but delicious menu and a full service bar. The room was well appointed and comfortable. We would really recommend this hotel.

This place is the best! There is not really anything I can complain about. The rooms are beautifully done, with plenty of room. The bed is super comfortable, and the bathroom is large. Breakfast was great every morning (thanks Jackie) and the view of the water was amazing. This hotel also has an in-house restaurant which served very good, reasonably priced food. It was very convenient to dine there when the weather was cold and rainy. But the best thing of all was the proximity to the waterfront. There is a nice outside seating area with fire pits. The staff was very hospitable. I will be back when the weather is warmer!

I've been a business traveler for over fifty years and have stayed in thousands of hotels. This one is in the Top 10 of all of them! The staff was professional and courteous, the guest security was top drawer, the restaurant view was beautiful, the room was spotless and smelled great, and the room layout and appointments were second to none. Even down to the sliding door to the patio which seemed to glide on air. If you're in the area, book a room here and enjoy. I had a lake view room which was well worth the price. I heard the man who created this hotel has a long pedigree in building and running great hotels. It showed. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

We stayed the third week this hotel was open and all we can say is Wow! Everything we would expect with a brand new Hampton and more. The location itself is worth the stay since it is right on the beach, which was not crowded in the middle of the week when we were there. We spent two days and I wish it would have been more. We had booked this months ago when we were just looking for a place to relax a couple days on a long trip. We kicked back on the patio watching the lake or the sunsets as we relaxed. Outdoor music playing on speakers was mostly 70's to 90's easy rock music which was great for this 60's something couple. 3 or 4 gas-fired fire pits at night made everything comfy with a great ambiance. Some finishing touches are still being applied like the patio umbrellas and the outdoor bar. Only downside for some is that they are still getting their liquor license so adult drinks are not available yet.
The 5th floor (top) restaurant (Windward) was a first for me at a Hampton (we were told it was 1 of only 6 Hampton's with a restaurant) . While the restaurant was still operating on a limited basis/menu the view was great but the dinners surprised as the food was excellent. They were letting people bring in alcoholic drinks to go with their meals since alcohol was not yet available there. The meals did not come with side dishes but was still plenty as we ordered salads also that were good. I had one of the best steaks that I have had in a while with the horseradish based sauce just excellent and dinner came with plenty of seasoned potato wedges. The quality surprised us. We didn't use the pool but the very large indoor/outdoor hot tub looked very inviting and I am sure will be a hit in the winter when the snow is flying.
Plenty of great walking from the hotel on the nearby pier, beach or river but if you are looking to walk to shopping or restaurants then this may not be for you as it is about 1 mile back to downtown. We spent most of our time at the hotel but did take the short drive into town to do a little shopping and some eating since the Windward is currently open only for dinner (TJ's Pub is excellent for lunch, see that review). Manistee was a nice small town with some specialty shopping and nice river walk but without all the heavy traffic of other shoreline tourist cities that we went through. One bridge on US 31 is being worked on but it was just a small inconvenience.
Staff at the hotel was great as we talked to them about the place. The hotel was built on a previous small hotel that stood at this site.
My wife said the stop reminded her of sitting all day on the patio of the lodge at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and just watching the sun play on the canyon walls. Very relaxing, highly recommended if you are mostly looking to relax. When all the amenities get finished it will be even better.

We stayed here for one night on our Michigan road trip. As Gold members, we were upgraded to a room with a balcony overlooking the beach, which we very much appreciated. The sunset from our balcony was beautiful! The room was very comfortable and spotless. We were there on a Sunday and expected the restaurant to be closed, based on their website info, but it was open -- maybe because it was Father's Day. We had a very nice dinner (fish tacos for me, meatloaf for my husband, and we shared a decadent pumpkin cheesecake for dessert), and they had a good assortment of Michigan beers on tap. After that dinner, we took a long walk out to the waterfront. Typical good-quality Hampton breakfast in the morning. This was the perfect location for a relaxing stay.

Great location, great service, nice new clean hotel! Two minute drive to Manistee County Club which has some holes right on Lake Michigan and is affordable! It is about 1 mile or a 14-15 minute walk to the main part of town with restaurant options if you choose not to eat at the hotel. (The service was great at the top floor restaurant on site food was average, not bad but average) Workout facility was really nice with options you do not get at all hotels. The pool and Hot tub were really nice, hot tub is huge with an indoor / outdoor connecting tunnel. Fire pits and outdoor bar facing the lake as well. (The outdoor bar was not open yet) Walked a couple of miles each morning - the river walk into town was great and scenic, also walked out on the south pier!

Beautiful, new hotel on the shore of Lake Michigan! The staff was friendly, our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We visited in the middle of September but the weather was gorgous so they opened the tiki bar. Drinks were pricey, but it was a fun atmosphere. Breakfast had a decent variety, and the breakfast staff worked hard to keep everything full and fresh. The only bad thing about our stay was packing up to leave. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Manistee overnight on our way to Upper Peninsula. It's a beautiful newer hotel. They have an EV Charger in the front of the parking lot. It costs $3/hour to charge. It is a level 2 charger so it took our EV 4 hours to charge. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There is a bar by the beach that served limited drinks. We had a couple drinks and enjoyed the view! Our room was clean and very comfortable with a fantastic view of the beach below. The bed was a little too firm for our taste. Free breakfast in the morning was good, usual fare, eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Had a wonderful stay! The facility is brand new and was very clean with spacious rooms and a large bathroom. The location overlooking the lake is gorgeous and the amenities such as the fireplace and indoor/outdoor hot tub are a really nice touch, although my family did not use them during this stay. The staff, especially Amy, at the front desk was amazing and extremely helpful. The only downside from my perspective was the lack of a freezer in the room's mini fridge as we travel with frozen breast milk, however staff was willing to keep it in a facility freezer so we didn't waste any of that liquid gold. My family and I hope to return soon and really take advantage of the hotel and lake.

This is, by far, the nicest Hampton Inn we've ever stayed in! It is absolutely lovely, from the rooms to the common areas AND the outside beach area! We wished we were able to stay longer, that's for sure (we're from Oklahoma). This is not a hotel to just be used for overnight traveling, if it can be helped. The chairs, fire pits, outside hot pool (that you can swim to from the inside pool), and tiki bar (in season) all facing a beach on Lake Michigan screams 'vacation'! I know it's about a year old and it hasn't had much wear and tear, but I'm betting that Hampton will take good care of the property and keep it fabulous!
