We stayed at the campsite at the Okaukuejo camp for two nights. The site was biggish but tons of campers had been packed in. So not a site if you are particular about privacy and space! Fortunately, we had been allotted a site to one edge of the area, and had its own charging point, braai and a tap for...

Check in was slow with a ridiculous system of paying separately for park fees at one desk then checking into the camp at another. This should all be able to be done together. at one desk! The staff were not very friendly either. Although our room was close to the waterhole (excellent game viewing) and the room was adequate there...

The greatest bonus at Okakeujo is the waterhole, which really does attract a lot of game and offers good viewing facilities. The campsite, though, is dusty, noisy, offers no privacy and has hardly any shade. The individual sites are also extremely small. There was no hot water during the two days we spent here. We were glad, on the other hand,...

This is a great central point to stay in Etosha with easy driving access to many waterholes. As its a government run lodge, the facilities are a bit more basic than other lodges around Etosha; however rooms are good value, clean, well maintained and nice enough. However, you will be coming here more for the quick access to wildlife and...

We experienced frustrating inadequacies with the management and service of Okaukuejo, but found the animals magnificent and would stay within the Park again. The check-in process, with its cumbersome documentation, seemed almost based on the assumption that the employees and/or the guests were all dishonest. The staff member spoke English-English so quickly and softly that I had to ask her...

We camped here for two nights. There are some 40 sites and from what I can tell, the first 30 or so are very close to each other and were mostly filled with groups. We were assigned to a site in the 30s and those are more spread out. The site itself is ok. Not a lot of trees so...

Newer then Halali but also more touristic. The showers were ok. The pool was a bit too small for such a huge camping. The campsites were too close to eachother and the personelle is friendly enough. The waterhole is fantastic; too bad that the chalets were standing in between the camping and the waterhole.

From start to finish this was a disappoint. As soon as you arrive you are bombarded with stuff, deposit for room key, book your game drive now ect your head is reeling!! We arrived at our rooms, the waterhole chalets, and at first everything looked lovely,we then started to notice things-a plaster covering a hole in the mosquito net,2 large cracks in the bathroom...

This camp is not luxury. If you want this then suggest you stay in a private lodge outside the park. Rooms are serviceable but I would not pay the premium to stay right at the waterhole. We stayed at the chalets just a little further away and simply strolled down to the waterhole in the evening. Great place to observe...

We traveled to Okaukuejo without expecting a luxury camp, this is the right attitude. The camp is quite simple but fun. The chalet are really big, clean and comfortable. The food is just ok. The waterhole is stunning. At the end the price is right for what you get (compared to other lodge). This is the reason we rate the...
