What a wonderful oasis in the middle of he desert. The place is spectacular and the pool a welcome reprieve from the heat. The only conplaint was that our unit's aircon was not working properly. Overall a great stay.

We stayed for 3 nights and loved everything - the location, the food, the staff, the pool and our amazing bathroom built into the rocks. Highly recommend it - don't stay for just one night, three was perfect to do some hikes, visit Fish River Canyon and relax.

The lodge is even more beautiful than the pictures on websites. Service and breakfast were exceptional. Rooms are beautiful and very neat, with air-conditioning for those hot afternoons! Sunset from the pool is amazing. Thank you for a amazing beginning to 2016!

The Cabin we were hosted in had a beautiful view of the Canyon walls and was very cosy. we loved every minute there and it felt like a dream, the cabins in the rocks and...

Staying with a family of four (2 small children, aged 1 and 4) it was a great experience. The location is fabulous, the pool (quite big) a great spot for our 4-year old to swim. ALthough the family rooms are 1 space, it was big enough for the 4 of us. Excellent service by a friendly team.

No complimentary water in your room which I found strange as you in the desert. I was not going to risk it with the tap water. I have not figured out exactly which bungalows have a bath in the bathroom but my bungalow (#15) did not have one like the family room in the pictures on the website. Animal droppings...

An excellent location for exploring the Canyon and surrounds. The setting against granite koppies is magnificent and makes for excellent landscapes. The rooms are neat and spotless with great views. The staff were welcoming and very friendly. Breakfast and dinner were excellent with a decent selection of wines available, and wind permitting, dinner on the patio is a must as...

We stopped here after a long drive fron sousselvi along dirt tracks so were pleased to arrive at a well maintained place. Lush greens areas in the old converted farm house where you could have coffee and use wifi. The rooms were small chalets and were beautifully equipped with strong shower, lovely products (however in glass bottles - which I...

This lodge is a real beauty, the pearl in the neighbourhood of the Fish River Canyon. The Canyon Lodge is located between massive rounded granite boulders. Found the chalets very comfortable and set in spectacular scenery. Swimming pool is also set in a peaceful situation but wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Staff most helpful and attentive.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The harsh rocky desert region at the southern tip of Namibia has made many a traveller think that God has forgotten this land. Not so, just 20 kilometres from the main viewpoint of the Fish River Canyon, leading off the dusty D324, you’ll find the Canon Lodge, an oasis seemingly in the middle of nowhere. The Canon Lodge is one of two existing accommodation centres in the expanse of the 530 km² Gondwana Canon Park. Tall weather-beaten granite boulders mark the location of the lodge and forms an integral part of the overall design. The 20 thatch stone bungalows are dotted among the kopies and are beautifully designed, with the walls shaped around the hills so that boulders protrude into your room, cool to the touch and smoothly rounded by an eternity of erosion. ... more   less
