The price of this hotel is expensive than average with other hotel around but room quality, services and food at the restaurant lower than expected. The staff was unfriendly and difficult to see them smile. Our bathroom was not clean and bedsheets looked like not change from previous guests. We made three nights reservation but we staid only one night....

I first stayed in Zuela back in 2006 when it was a much smaller guesthouse with a very friendly and welcoming family and staff. Since then the place has expanded a lot and unfortunately bigger does not mean better. Yes the rooms are still as clean and tidy as before and the place has a good location. But with more...

Zuela has comfortable rooms at reasonable rates. On the main street, but very relaxing and peaceful. Access to ATM, tuktuk to bus station, trek booking, motorcycle rental, etc all very easy. I went on a two day trek to a Lahu village. We hiked uphill for around five hours on a steep trail through the forest. Our guide gave us...

Located on the Main Street, its close to all services needed for trekking, motorbiking, transport inquires and opposite to the night market! Stayed in a twin room. Was better than many guest houses I've stayed in! Comfy beds, warm showers, fans casted a lot of cool air, quiet. Wifi was average. Staff had okay English and could help us when...

It really depends upon from which direction you arrive. If you have been roughing it then ZG is just fine; if however, you have come from the comfort of Luang Prabang or Vientiane, then the warmish showers and weakish WIFI may not really please. There are workarounds; the restaurant has better reception and adjusting to less than idyllic water temperature...

We stayed in Luang Nam Tha for four nights, including one home stay organised through Zuela staff and the rest at the Guesthouse itself. All went incredibly smoothly - great forest walk with meal cooked on the fire, lovely day kayaking and all supported by the person who would otherwise be on reception to welcome guests. A slick operation indeed!...

The owner, Xai, is a great host. We got a great room at a good price. The sheets are good, rooms clean and spacious. Wi fi is good (but slows when lots of people use it). The restaurant is very good and bike/bicycle hire here is great We stayed at another place for 2 nights but Zuela was much better.

This guesthouse is opposite night market in middle of Luang Namtha city.I stayed in fan room , big and clean, bed and pillow very good for sleep. By the way some of wall is wood ,so the wall can't resistance some noise of people outside. There's restaurant in guesthouse , I like banana muffin.

Having read the lonely planet's recommendation we had really high hopes for this hotel. The building is nice and cosy HOWEVER the staff are lazy, unfriendly and mostly don't even smile!! The guy on reception didn't make any effort to help us or make us feel welcome, the waiters and waitresses do the bare minimum or are just playing on...
