We stayed here 4 nights in between various trekking trips in Luang Namtha. The place has great riverside views and is the prefect base from which to explore some of the local villages and scenery by bicycle. It is 6k into Luang Namtha so consider this if you want to be close to town. We didn't, as we had activities...

This was our first stop on our honeymoon tour of Laos and Vietnam. The place is wonderful; really secluded, quiet, basic but beautiful rooms and lovely views of the river. Its an eco lodge so don't expect luxurious hot water on demand but it is very comfortable. Also note you are up close and personal with some bugs whilst wandering...

Our overall impression was that the place needs some better upkeep (shower tabs / hot water issues, lights not working on the pathway, which makes it akward to find your bungalow in the dark). Still nice bamboo bungalows and pleasant enough, but could do much better. Friendly and helpful staff, good food in the restaurant, too.

First things first, the food is fabulous, best we had in 2 weeks in Laos. In a peaceful, idyllic setting next to the river, among beautiful well-kept gardens and orchard of exotic fruits and flowers. The bamboo bungalows are utterly charming, tasteful, clean and comfortable. Off the main tourist trail here, but we found access in and out of Luang...

Quite, clean and simple bungalows with river view and surrounded by a garden. The bungalows are made of local material and all the linen and furniture are made in a local design. The restaurant is very good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The guesthouse is out of town with the convinience of no traffic noise and the possibilty to get...

The guesthouse is in a nice position near the river a bit far from the town. It is a very basic accomodation, but it is fine. The restaurant of the guesthouse is excelent both for breakfast and dinner.

The Boat Landing is an interesting place to stay, by a river with every bedroom having a view of the river. When we stayed there the weather was very cold and with no heating in the rooms we were a little chilly. However, we were fine once in bed as there were lots of blankets. The food is amazing a...

Great position and pleasant staff but the bungalows are in need of a refresh. We had plenty of space in possibly the largest bungalow but the ants in the loo and its resident ghecko were unwelcome at night and it was dark and gloomy inside.

This eco lodge would have been amazing in 1999 when it was first set up by its American founder. However since he left 7 years ago it has not been kept to the original standard (eg gutters falling down; termite attacks on wood; dust and dead bugs on windows and walls). It has a fantastic restaurant with authentic Lao food...
