We are happy to host for you a couple of days in our hostel! Come stay, and chill with us in the heart of the city. We offer a spacious and high quality hostel for travelers from all over the world. Our staff will be smiling when you enter through the gate. We have been active since 2017 and won the BEST HOSTEL in NICARAGUA award for 3 years in a row, so get ready for a good time! We have space for 38 guests and are open to all kinds of people. We value social interaction between different cultures and our guests. To do so we offer, various places to sit and mingle, rooftop, fresh green garden, many hammocks, huge open kitchen, big dining area, instruments, social activities, etc. You want to work while you are here? Perfect! Plenty of places to sit and work with our fast internet available throughout the property. No need to go anywhere because we offer a C$60 breakfast every morning with coffee or tea. Drinks are also available and very cheap. Rooms are large with plenty of space for you and all your stuff. We offer different room-types, basic dorm - deluxe dorm - private rooms - family rooms. Some rooms have AC available too, because it gets hot in here :) Need more space, we have a bodega where you store larger items, no problemo. We are just a couple blocks from the central park and close to many bars and restaurants. We are located in a more quiet street, which is nice... believe us :) We offer daily tours to several volcanoes via our partners. Best hostel I've ever stayed at!!! Please stay here if you're coming to Leon and you won't regret it! The rooms are perfect, great value and the whole place has such a chilled vibe with amazing social evenings organised every night! Sadly I only spend a short amount of time here, but i really liked the hostel. The staff were really friendly and organised lots of events to ensure socialising amongst guests. The space was well used and the hostel was located in a central area, with a common kitchen and a bar. The beds however, we rather uncomfortable but seemed a small price to pay. If you're looking for a social and vibrant hostel this is the place!

Highly recommended!! What a great hostel! Poco a Poco was our first stop in Nicaragua. The staff was really helpful regarding transportation from the airport and booking some awesome trips. Great welcoming, we felt at home right away. Everything is very clean and you can have a good night of sleep! The pool is really nice during the hot hours of the day. The AC also worked great! After a trip to the north of Nica we even went back for a couple of nights. A lot to see in and around Leon! After 3 weeks of travelling we found out that Poco a Poco is a highly rated hostel amongst traveler’s, they deserve it!

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOSTEL! RUDE OWNER, RUBBISH FACILITIES AND FALSELY ADVERTISED. I have never met a more rude owner in my entire life. We booked a room via booking.com which included air-conditioning. When we arrived we were told that we would have to pay an extra $10 for air-conditioning even though there was nothing stating this on the booking and it stated that A/C was included on our booking confirmation. We showed this to the owner and he told us that it was booking.com’s fault and that they have this issue all the time. Well if they have this issue repeatedly, why are they still using booking.com and passing the blame to them? Take some responsibility and do something about it. He was very rude and spoke to us disgustingly, offering no solution. After shouting at us, he eventually told us told us to leave and that we wouldn’t find a better place. Every hostel we have seen in Leon is 10x better than this one for the price. The hostel doesn’t even have a swimming pool. No wonder the hostel was empty when we got there. With such a rude owner, poor customer service, poor facilities and paying a ridiculous price for air con when it says it is included, I am sure the hostel will go out of business very soon! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! You can EASILY find somewhere much nicer and better quality for money with better staff! (Examples: the spot hostel, lazy bones).…

Don't hesitate to book here - I checked out the other popular hostels in Leon (big foot, via via, etc.) and this was by far the best. Dorm rooms are clean, staff is very attentive and responsive on WhatsApp (shout out to Erick) and there are nice hammock areas. I liked the street it was on too as it was in town and close to everything but more picturesque than some of the other hostels.

The hostel is large, clean, equipped, well-located. The best benefits are the very kind and helpful staff, the free breakfast, and the social non-party vibe of the guests. The water pressure in the showers is so low many are unusable. Fixing that would earn 5/5 stars.

Hola, Thanks writing us your review and thanks for the feedback. We know the waterpressure is superimportant when you are in the shower. We have a seperate pressure pump which (normally) works really well. We have had it checked and it was leaking some water, so we had that fixed the same day. Que Calor, Leon! Northwest Nic is a sharp hot shock when accustomed to Carib summer rain, especially when dehydrated by demasiado cerveza further up the road. Poco a Poco, with genial hosts Henry & Eric, was hammock to hammock rehab for a couple of days, where I was resident perezoso sloth, literally hanging out in the courtyard, where the fans nearly matched my lazy bones, yet better than sweating in the stuffy dorm. But the sign of a laid-back hostel: no one was judging, or at least never nudged me with any ahems. To my credit, I did sledge-surf the ash-cone of Cerro Negro, not as zestily as most, but the hangover didn't quite quell the thrill. Poco a poco, toddling the baking calles of Leon, though not a patch on colonial charms of Granada, far less Antigua, not unpleasant - most Central Am cities are pretty grim. Get out of town to the landscapes and pueblos and you've got the corazon. Poco a Poco made our stay in Leon unforgettable. Great staff, clean rooms , lots of information and fun activities. Close to the central park, and some nice bars and restaurants. Definitely recommended!

I chose the Poco a Poco Hostel based on its good reviews and stayed there for 3 nights over Christmas in 2019 - and I LOVED IT!!! I stayed in the premium / deluxe dorm with aircon and although it was at least a 10-bed dorm it turned out to be spacious and I slept wonderfully. It also had its own bathroom attached to the dorm. The hostel itself is divided into several little chill zones with makes up part of its charm. You can sit and relax on the roof top, chill at own of the sofas or hang out in one of the hammocks. There is also a communal kitchen where you can prepare your own meals if you chose to do so (there are also plenty of restaurants around). This is also where the included breakfast is served each morning. The staff is super helpful and on Christmas Eve they even prepared a special meal for us and decorated the dining area which was very lovely!! And for every other day of the week, the hostel planned activities in the evening in case you get lonely.…
