Hotel Cacique was great! Friendly staff and wonderful accommodations. I stayed in one of the apartments and was never uncomfortable. The room was cleaned daily and the kitchenette worked great for preparing coffee and storing cold water in the fridge. The balcony had a hammock where I admittedly spent too much of my time. The breakfast provided every morning was of quality and the staff were always friendly and ready to help. Will be coming back to this hotel if I'm ever in León again.

Our group of 29 took over much of the hotel for a week, and were treated royally.

The rooms were spacious, and the rates were good.

The hotel is close to the main square, and there are many good restaurants near by. Their own restaurant also serves a good meal.

The staff was exceptionally accommodating. Breakfast is normally served from 7 am, but as several of us had to leave earlier during the week, they had breakfast available shortly after 6. My computer had issues, and our man on the front desk had the required tool at home, and had it brought to the hotel within the hour.

We'll be back.

Excellent location and friendly staff plus tasty food. The rooms are very clean. The hotel is located just a few blocks from the Basilica and central square so easy to walk.
With a kitchenette in our room and a grocery store nearby making small meals is an option.

This hotel offers an oasis in the frenetic, hot city of Leon. Step inside and you are greeted by a helpful staff. Plants and native art are everywhere, creating a sense of calm. The pool is lovely, and I enjoyed the hammock on a private patio. And, okay, I usually wouldn't mention this: the towels smelled fantastic.

This is for the restaurant. Looked like a full menu so I came in for early dinner/late lunch after I didn’t eat my lunch at a different place due to how bad it was. It is super hot outside so I tried the lemonade with alcohol in it. Tasted amazing and was frozen so helped to cook off in a very hot day!! I decided to go with the lasagna. It came with a huge salad . It was a good sized portion of lasagna, although not huge sized. I really enjoyed it as it had a good taste. It wasn’t too flavorful thigh. I would get it again but may try something else as well. The highlight was the staff. They were amazing!! Try this place out for some good food!!

I spent two weeks in Leon studying Spanish with the Dariana Spanish School. I have nothing but praise for the Hotel Cacique Adiact. They were very accommodating to allow me to work with my Spanish teacher at the hotel. The hotel is kept exceptionally clean. I had one of the rooms with a kitchenette which worked out very well for me. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always very good. I very much enjoyed the pool. Swam every day.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and willing to help us out. The morning we checked out, we had an excursion and the staff were happy to store our bags in a safe place. The pool is big, in the sun and clean. We also enjoyed the reasonably priced food. We’d definitely stay here again :)

This is a very well-kept and clean property in central Leon, which could be more user-friendly. The good: beautiful well-tended gardens, lovely pool area, spotless tile throughout, good beds and linen, great location, great hammocks, a sense of quiet. What could be better: we reserved a specific room in advance, based on the online room photos, but somehow when we arrived it was not available. We were instead given an airless room with few windows (Room 11) and were told we would be upgraded to a pool-facing room (Room 13) to compensate for what the reception admitted was a 'mistake'. The next day, however, we were upgraded to a basic room (Room 3) instead of the pool-facing room. We had to ask to be given the upgrade we were promised once again, and this involved another shift of luggage––the hotel really should have been more forthcoming. Room 13, however, had some problems we did not expect: the fan / circulation of air from a neighbouring kitchen brought all their kitchen smells intensely into that room, and we found that the room facing the pool had many mosquitos. We also found that our luggage did not come with us when we changed rooms, and we had to go searching for it with the aid of the very kind, and slightly embarrassed, woman at reception. Another issue we had was with transport offered by the hotel, which always seemed to cost about 1/3 more than what we could get from a taxi ordered from a neighbouring restaurant. The offer for long-distance transport by the hotel, a trip from Rivas, in the South, to Leon, was also approx. 1/3-1/2 more expensive than what we were able to arrange on our own through the hotel down South. Finally, we began to eat breakfast out, at a nearby restaurant, as we found that there were often not enough plates (!), fruit, or variety at the hotel. Also, at times, there as no one at reception (which could be unhelpful and unfriendly––very tired from the heat?), which was difficult esp. when trying to get inside from the locked front door with no one to answer the bell. This hotel is described as 'budget', which is not the case price-wise in comparison with other hotels in the city which are described as 'high end'---and we would choose one of those instead in future for more even-keeled service. I have noticed, like others on Tripadvisor, that the owner of the property tends to react badly to criticism in his responses to user reviews, so I hope he takes these comments simply as suggested improvements for what is otherwise a lovely property. There's an opportunity to make this hotel much more wonderful than it is.

Response from thorbjornw, Owner at Hotel Cacique Adiact

We have checked the case with our reception staff, and unfortunately a mistake was made by the reception. You had been promised the standard room number 3 and by an error this room had already been given to somebody else, so you were offered another standard room, number 11. This type of errors should not happen, so we have now asked the reception staff to cross-check the reservations daily with the emails. We can only apologize. Regarding your other comments, we are sorry you did not have a pleasant stay: 1. Tastes are different, and room number 11 is actually together with number 3 the room with most demand. It is rarely vacant. It is a bit smaller than the other rooms but it has a king size bed and is located a bit apart, so it is very quiet. It has a small balcony also with rocking chairs. It has both a window and a glass door opening to the private balcony. 2. We do not describe our hotel as "budget" anywhere, neither in our brochures nor at our website. Our guests have in 2014 through Tripadvisor awarded us as the number six hotel in Central America in the category "bargain", which means they consider it to have a favourable relation between price and quality ("not budget"). From your comment we understand that you do not share that opinion. We respect that. 3. All the apartments have kitchenette, and this may mean some smell of food on to the balcony, and as they are back-to-back this may affect the neighbour. However, this is the first time we have had a complaint in this regard. 4. There are many mosquitoes in Leon in December-January. Normally we are able to control that at our hotel, but as it is quite windy right now, the wind will carry some mosquitoes into our hotel, so we can't avoid them completely. 5. If you are 1-2 persons and you negotiate, you can probably get cheaper transport from a taxi than the service we give with our hotel shuttle. The choice is yours. 6. Our breakfast is from 7 am to 9.30 am. The reception is manned from 7.30 am to 9.00. pm. They do leave the reception when they have to accompany the guests to their room. In the night the watchman will open the doors for the guests.
