Friendly staff and calm hostel

Great hostel, nice and helpful staff, clean and spacious rooms with fans. Atmosphere was ok, but rather calm hostel. Good location for exploring the city and not too far from the bus terminal. I can absolutely recommend this hostel if you want a calm night and to relax.

Good stay

We encountered an awful night on Arrival and decided to check this place out. On arrival we were welcomed by a lovely staff member and he wasn't sure if they had space so he gave us the wifi and let us chill in the reception. After five minutes we were in and our bags were stored until check in. Pros: Cheap Spacious rooms Bare able heat with fans Roof terrace Pool table Breakfast Lounge areas Cons: Showers/bathrooms Pillow terrible

Great place for travelers

I was very surprised with the place. For 18$ for a private room this was really nice since we travel 2 persons together. The private room we got was good. The annexed bathroom was quite ordinary. The sink is in the shower and water falls on your feet. the toilet is facing the shower and basically, there is no room for you the take a number 2. So I used the common bathrooms. The breakfast was really good, 2 options, pancake or eggs. I would strongly suggest the pancake. It is small so if you eat a lot in the morning consider going out to a restaurant. There is good coffee and happy faces :) There are hammock and couches wich is really nice. 2nd bad point is the rooms are really close to either the kitchen or the washing machines. The maids in the morning do male some noise so do not expect to sleep pass 7am. If you want more quiet rooms, ask to go the the far end. there is less trafic there. Overall, really nice place. Clean and the staff is fun.…

Nice hostel and good price

I went with my husband in sept 2017. Rooms are clean, the hostel is relatively quiet (not a party hostel) and the included breakfast is ok. It is just a little noisy in the morning because the maids start to work early and the room is not well soundproof. But overall, for the price, it is good. There is also a nice place to relax with hammocks and chairs, you can book a tour to volcanos or a shuttle at the reception (which is good) and the wifi is really good, even in the rooms. The personel was really nice to us.

Solid, quiet, friendly place to stay

Los Vacaciones is a hostel that offers all the “basic stuff” one expects. There is friendly staff, clean, quiet, quite big rooms with fans, basic but tidy sanitary facilities, breakfast served (free coffee), a kitchen for self-catering, hammocks and rocking chairs to relax and water for a small fee. Located a short walk away from the cathedral and parque central it is just far enough from the “party-hostels” if you want it quiet but also near enough that you can go there easily for night entertainement. The hostel also has a nice roof terrace, staying there in the evenings means a lot of stars to watch. The “downsides”: there is no real “gathering place” like a nice garden and thus the atmosphere is lacking a bit. But nevertheless there is enough room and possibility for meeting and chatting. The breakfast is not that big deal, especially not for a hungry belly. You shouldn´t opt for the pancake as it is just a small one and a banana… Coffee is offered for free in the mornings but with a lot of tired heads waiting it is not always easy grabbing one in time. The kitchen is only poorly equipped, we were happy to have some cutting knifes and cutlery on our own. We have enjoyed our stay there and would recommend the hostel as a good place to be in Leon.…

Great budget private room

We paid $18 for a doible private room. Very clean, great location ans included breakfast. No hot water but Leon is hot enough! The room was a great size but became very hot with only one fan it was difficult to sleep. Otherwise fabulous for the price.

Comfy bed after a very long journey!

We arrived in Leon after an epic 20hr journey down through Honduras and had a great nights sleep in a very comfy bed. There was a fan in our room which keep us plenty cool enough, despite it being really hot in the day. Breakfast was included (the pancakes were amazing). Staff were helpful arranging Volcano boarding and advising on public transport for our onward journey. The hostel is 10 mins walk to the historic centre and has hammocks in the communal area if you want to have a siesta and escape the fierce Leon midday sun. Would definitely stay here again on a trip to Leon.

Budget friendly hostel

First of all, let me say that the staff here is incredible... especially the ladies(Tanya and Lorna) who clean, cook breakfast, and do your laundry(for a fee). Other than that, the accommodations are very basic, very hot(even with the provided fans), and prone to a couple of roaches. Granted it was the hottest time of year. Pool table is available in the lobby along with the best wifi reception. Reading material and travel information also available. The staff is knowledgeable on where to eat and tour. The volcano is awesome! There appear to be better options nearby for lodging, but at a somewhat higher price. I could live with all the short-comings of Hostal Las Vacaciones except for the fact that the airport shuttle service they offered mad me miss my flight. I was told the the shuttle would travel direct to airport. However, it arrived a half hour late! And made TWO stops(adding another 1/2 hour) picking up and dropping off enroute to the airport!…

Very average

The rooms were really hot, the kitchen filthy with barely anything to use, and bathrooms really average. The wifi didn't work the whole time we were there. Breakfast was great and the ladies who serve it are lovely but the guy on the front desk was rude. Their conversion rate is awful so their prices in Dollars is a lie, when we called them on in they said we could pay on card but that comes with an 8% fee- basically they just lie about their prices.

Good place to stay

We stayed for 4 nights. Good location. 2 fans in the room. The room is clean and confortable. Common area are nice and clean with hammock. Staff is helpfull. They provide tours with nicatime which seems cheaper than other. Good breakfast. Great value
