This hotel is billed as one of the best in Leon but I fail to see why. Its location is quite handy and central and it is accommodated in a grand building, but it has clearly seen better days, and would need millions of dollars of investment to bring it up to acceptable international standards. The approach to the hotel... More

Dear, I can understand you did not enjoy your stay in our Hotel, I also can understand you might not also see the real beauty in here, this is a construction made 158 years ago, with a large history, part of the construction the bases were made with parts of the train on Nicaragua and sometimes people used to think... We enjoyed our recent stay at La perla in Leon. It is in a great location just off of the central square and within the historic center. The rooms were comfortable and ours was large with a balcony. Not luxurious but definitely comfortable. Nice small courtyard pool and a lovely courtyard where we had our breakfasts. Staff was friendly and... More

Hotel La Perla occupies what was once a grand mansion and still retains some of its former splendour with its large courtyard setting and grand entrance. Its location, just 2 blocks away from the main cathedral square and within walking distance of some of good restaurants is ideal. The rooms, however, need considerable attention to bring them up to a good... Everywhere we have stayed in Nicaragua, we were welcomed by friendly, very helpful hotel staff- except at La Perla. The staff were not particularly friendly and didn't seem interested. No information was provided for things like the safe in the room. I have used a lot of safes and presumed it was much the same as others. Not! I had... More

It's my 3rd time staying at this hotel, such beautiful house, almost like a palace but this time looked a unpolished. Some walls just need to be retouched to look better, beds are OK but maybe new pillows are needed or more than 2 for a queen size bed. Breakfast was just OK. The staff could be coached in friendliness,... More

Like many hotels in Nicaragua, the La Perla is sort of a place in decline. The outside of the hotel is quite nice, but the rooms are dirty and the beds cheap and uncomfortable. The front desk staff were helpful enough. Overall, just an okay place, nothing special.

I loved my time at La Perla. The hotel is gorgeous, beautiful, historic and colonial. The room was enormous, and service was exceptional. People were very helpful and always with a smile. Location is perfect, two blocks away from the main square. The hotel has a small swimming pool. The only thing is that the fixtures in the room were... More

I was very comfortable here. Nice king size bed, worn but comfortable sheets, air con worked well, modern bathroom with good shower pressure, although it could have been cleaned with a little more detail. Loved the high ceilings and size of the room. I really enjoyed the balcony, galleries, architecture and decor of the hotel. Loved sitting in the rocking... More

There is a cat right there where you're having breakfast, trying to steal from your plate. The carpet in my room smelled as somebody was murdered right there last week. The air conditioning does not work. Water hardly comes out from the faucet, and the toilet requires you to take the toilet tank cover every time if you want it... More

A great building in a perfect location that needs help. Management is cutting corners where ever they can. The towels are all shredded around the edges and should have been replaced long ago. The large balcony and very small pool both need to have more than 4 chairs. The AC works, the water runs and breakfast, while slow, was fine.
