We stayed 2 nights prior to embarking on cycling in the Loire Valley. Didier made us most welcome and collected us from the station. He also went our of his way to procure some parts for our laptop for us. The rooms were very nice, spacious, quiet and beds comfortable. Breakfast was delightful. We were entertained with aperitifs around the...

Stayed here for just one night en route to the South. The house and the especially the grounds are absolutely beautiful. As you would expect, the room was not fitted with all mod cons but was clean and decorated in keeping with the rest of the house. The owners were charming and said had we been staying longer he could...

This updated 17th century manor house is a gem. The owners, Didier Baudard de Fontaine and his wife Sylvie, were wonderful hosts. Didier's family were original owners of the house and he is full of information on the area and its attractions. My wife, my sister, my sister-in-law and I spent three nights at the house while visiting the Loire...

Le Manoir du Grand Echeneau is a beautiful house, within walking distance of the pretty town of Vouvray. The owners, Sylvie & Didier, could not have been more attentive and helpful. We enjoyed aperitifs every evening on the terrace adjacent to our room and also enjoyed a meal at the side of the pool with lots of wine from the...

We stayed at the Manoir Grand Echeneau for Easter 2009 and really enjoyed our stay. The place is very charming and the owner very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are nice and very well decorated. This place has a real history to discover. This is one of those secret tips we would highly recommend, both to French or Foreign travellers....

The wonderful welcome that we received when we arrived set the tone for the four days that we stayed at this wonderful hotel. The house is beautiful, full of history and the owners were absolutely charming. We stayed in an apartment, 3 adults and 2 children under 5. Breakfast was served in the beautiful dining room (decorated with oil paintings...

As part of a 2-week trip to France, we chose to stay 2 nights in the Loire Valley and wanted a "non-hotel" experience. This Manor, while a B&B in truth, is a charming residence. The hosts are lovely and helpful, and for our 6-year old son...the 2 resident dogs, Roxy and Jimmy, were the highlight of our stay! With a...

Where can one start, we had a great time and are going to return to Vouvray again next year!!! To briefly sum up our stay let me perhaps highlight some of the things I remember best as the father of the family. The hosts, Marina (lovely French lady with a sparkle and charm to match) and Noel (the real English...

Easily located in the quiet village of Vouvray (famous for its white, sparking wine) we were warmly welcomed by our host, Noel Terry and his two Labradors Jimmy and Roxy. Secure parking is available in front of the house. Noel (originally from England) and his English speaking French wife Marina are very knowledgeable on the Loire area and local wines....

“They are all different and good. One is at the back against the rock wall, and has no view at all, so may not suit: but the furnishings and fittings are the best, to make up for it.”
