The hotel is easy to find in the centre of the village. Parking is normally fine but we arrived during a children’s event and had to temporarily leave our car in a local free car park. The rooms are very large, clean, well appointed, comfortable and very quiet. We did have a slight issue with no power to the electrical sockets, but the staff quickly fixed it. The restaurant is very popular with the locals and serves excellent food. Unfortunately our experience was soured when we checked out in the morning, we had to dig through our paperwork to find our receipt to prove that we had settled the bill the night before.

Arrived after a long car journey to find a pretty little village among some beautiful countryside. The hotel is right on the main square with parking in the street and on the square.

The new owners are a lovely couple and made us feel very welcome. The room was clean, functional and fairly minimalistic. It had some nice views from the window.

The restaurant was an absolute delight. The evening meal was fabulous and the atmosphere (despite being quiet at this time of year) was very warm. I would definitely stay here again as there is some great walking/hiking and cycling available in the area - and where better to eat!

The hotel is situated in the village square next to the church, originally the presbytery for the priest. We were warmly welcomed by the owners and shown to our room which overlooked the village and the surrounding hills.
The room was spacious with a double and two bunk beds. The colour scheme was somewhat garish but the bathroom was ultra modern and very well appointed. Our only complaint would be that the towels, although spotless, were somewhat threadbare.
There is a very pleasant courtyard in which to eat and our choice of the 27€ menu proved very successful, all the dishes being well presented and tasty, made from local produce. The house wine was also tasty and excellent value.
The breakfast was plentiful including home-made jams and again very reasonably priced.
A possible drawback is that parking is in the village square below the hotel, which is accessed by quite a long flight of stone steps.
For a short break in beautiful scenery, this hotel represents excellent value.

This was the second year we stayed at La Calade. It's simple it's not pretencious and the owners are very friendly, they remembered us when we arrived. The place and the village are very charming it's a tiny place and near the Salagou lake, an area we discovered by chance. If you are in the area is a much nicer place to stay than Lodeve and the price is very good, even if you add the breakfast. Dinner is a bit expensive but you have various options but you don't have to eat there if you don't like. We love family run B&B and this is one of the best I stayed.

Our two family's and 2 dogs are on the way from Barcelona to London by car .Choosed the Calade hotel from Booking.com Really nice simple rooms (59euros per quadruple room with dog) and great Hotel restaurant (opens only from 20h) .the owners served the food-really delicious and we had a great (our family quite noisy while having good time)time and food !

We arrived at hotel at about 15h-no food (not even chips-we could get in a local bar) but we found and enjoy really tasty Figas growing on the tree!!!

At 17h-Mercadillo started with local selling food, cheese, jewelry and music ...

We jus walked around village-and felt like in French Love movie!

First of all the hotel and restaurant is in a beautiful part of France - well worth a visit. Overall price, room and food okay if you only need to use the place for a convenient one night stop over.
When I booked I stated that we wish to arrive between 5pm and 6pm. It said that the owners prefer to communicate via email. We were a bit early so had a cold beer. The hotel has nobody in reception and we waited for the owners to arrive at 6.20 pm. I did try the phone number but couldn't get through. By this time for couples were waiting with us. As I communicated our arrival time I would have preferred to have been informed that the hotel doesn't open before 6pm. Rooms okay but no air conditioning. As June was hot we had the windows open and listened to clanking shutters and umbrellas as it was windy. Not ideal. And a shame as the views from our room were just lovely. We were given a key for an old metal gate to gain access in the evening. Our key didn't work and when we tried to get to the care in the morning we were stuck in the courtyard. We had agreed breakfast for 8.30am and we were still waiting for the owners to arrive and open up at 8.30am. We asked for the bill and left rather than waiting again. Food was okay, but courtyard has a drain cover and unpleasant odors kept drifting up. Despite being relaxed and on holiday the more than relaxed attitude did not appeal to me. I picked the hotel as the food write up seemed very promising. But as a whole a bit of a disappointment.

Bon voyage

We came here for lunch on spec as we were too late for the restaurant in Salasc. The food was delicious and wine was fine, both at good prices. As well as inside, the restaurant has a quiet and cool terrace looking out over the village square. Service was excellent - thoroughly recommended. I can't comment on the hotel service - not experienced.

Despite the fact we emailed the hotel and told them that we would arrive shortly after 4.00pm, a quite reasonable time we found the place locked and bolted. I rang the phone number on the gate and they said that no one would arrive until 6.00pm, a terrible way to treat your guests. We found the room, when we were allowed in to be extremely spartan and the bathroom had one meager light so I had to shower in the virtual dark. The restaurant was o.k. and the Oak aged red from the local co-op a real treat but this did not offset the hotel's other major problems.

We arrived at the time of all the staff turning up for work complete with armfuls of foodstuffs for
the kitchen .We were left for five minutes standing with our suit cases in the dining room with
about six staff swirling around us. We were in stitches. Eventually when things settled down we
were attended to and shown to our good sized room. We took the half board option which was very good. The local wines were great but a little pricey. Breakfast was outside on the terrace and considering it was only mid April quite warm.

We found the whole experience amusing but very good. Will stay there again if in the area.
